Saxon Hall Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Like plenty of people here I regularly peruse the For Sale section. Its more fun than the FS areas on other Forums I frequent such as WatchUSeek where comments on the listing are not allowed. Anyway I have noticed that some items pop up a lot. For example , after I did a quick search I worked out about 25 NAD M51 DACs have been listed for sale in the last 12 months. (There are 2 for sale at the moment) AFAIK this would be the most of any individual item. Any other contenders?
betty boop Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 hehe theres probably also THE most frequently sold item ?
Addicted to music Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Not surprised, released in 2012, only dac with HDMI pass through, one of the best volume controls around, XLR and RCA. 1st dac to achieve 24/192 in all inputs. The thread that started it all has the highest post counts for a dac in SNA history. People have bought and sold it very quickly in the last 6 yrs. look where it stands in dac greatness: http://www.superbestaudiofriends.org/index.php?threads/marveys-dac-chart-of-awesomeness.63/ and the one for sna:
Telecine Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Lenehan Audio speakers appear to be up there in terms of sale listings. 2

Seriously though, maybe the M51 is not surprising. Excellent quality component that retailed for a pretty sharp price. Means lots of them sold. They are probably a decent stepping stone for getting people hooked on DACs and therefore moving up the chain. Edited February 27, 2018 by Sir Sanders Zingmore 1
Misternavi Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 i’m interested in “the town bike” (everyone has used it) the one item that has been bought and sold multiple timesanyone know? 1

And it holds enough value to justify getting off your arse and post a listing up when its sitting around unused. I have had plenty of friends who've re bought after selling it as well.
Darryl Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Kef LS50s seem to pop up fairly often. Mind you, I haven't done any searching in order to back up my assumption!
blybo Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 isotek premier power leads would be right up there...and the fastest to sell too

Addicted to music Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Speaking of DACs, remember those Audio gd? i remember they use to be bought only to be sold a few months later after the owner makes a raving review!

THOMO Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Usher S520 speakers are very common.Nice sounding little things so that is a surprise. Nad M51 DAC yes-not so nice sounding so that makes sense.

The M51 is Shcitt outside or above FW 1.39, overall it has that NAD house sound that people don’t like! It’s also on there M22 power amp! Not everyone likes it! I did a comaprision to a PS audio dac that someone had, the owner thought the PS audio sounded “better”to him, even though we both agreed it M51 had much better resolution when passages got complicated, you can follow and hear every instrument and voices but with the PS audio it was just messy blurr, you couldnt tell what was what! It’s was basically Doof Doof....He stuck with is PS and sold the M51. Edited February 28, 2018 by Addicted to music 1
