Just listened on an old awai 50 watt ss amp/pre. I have a battery powered crossover that I was going to try.

Upfront Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Crossover points are 625 hz & 3.4 khz. Bit low for a super tweeter. But not to low for a ribbon!

couchy Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 I could try the altec 604/605 2 way crossover which is 1600hz.
couchy Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 The bracket i made on the left is not strong enough to hold the driver so its back to the drawing board.

If your happy with the sound, thats all that matters mate. I'm just happy someone else is playing with horns! 1

willinitis Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Hi, How did you go with the mounting bracket? Just starting the exact same project as you and struggling to mount the EV HP9040 horns to my bass cabinet. Would love to see how you finished it
davewantsmoore Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 What's the scale on that impedance plot? (if anyone got a better pic). Beast driver. Blow your ear drums from a block away.
