Stump Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I took this hearing test which came out within one year of my age! Stump https://www.echalk.co.uk/Science/biology/hearing/HowOldIsYourHearing/resource.html 1
Kaynin Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Hmmm, my hearing age came in four years under my age. My hearing is, well, not my strong suit. It can't be accurate...
mrbuzzardstubble Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Mine came in 12 years below my age,so I can't complain.

Janjuggler Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 (edited) Hi All, Mine came in 14-17 years under my age, I did 4 sweeps, however it may be that the lag when you can't hear to actually hitting the mouse button may cause a variance. Also sitting in front of some speakers and listening specifically for the tone to disappear is different to casual listening in a crowded area with different pitch modes at various volumes. I wonder how we would go if the sweep was reversed, high frequency to low ??? A better test is this one which has been calibrated - https://hearingtest.online/ JJ Edited April 18, 2018 by Janjuc 1
catman Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 G'day all, an interesting test and I actually patched the sine wave sweep into my audio system. My hearing age came out at 33 and I am 55, and the highest frequency was 15,968 Hertz. Not too bad I think. Regards, Felix.

That's the right way to do it IMO, Felix - have the sound produced by your hifi speakers, rather than your PC/laptop's speakers. "thumb up"! (Why, @Marc, do we now have a million emojis when we click on the "smiley face icon" - rather than the few we had before? I'm afraid I am not going to sift through all of the crap to find the one I want - in this case the "hand with the thumb up".) Andy

Now Marc has granted those wishes and people are starting to bang on that there's too many... 1
t_mike Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 My emojis are all the ones I have on my phone. If everyone else has the same, this could get interesting.
crisis Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Mine is 47 and I'm 55. Of course I did the test on my PC through dodgy Cerwin Vega monitors. I'm not sure whos HF dropped out first... What is concerning is that it dropped out at around 13,000hz which makes any obsessing with 20 - 20 frequency responses quite redundant.. Perhaps I might rethink any future upgrades.
Guest kab Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 My selective ears still work a treat, just ask the better half!
t_mike Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 61 years when listening through the phone speaker, 47 when using cheap phone IEMs. In a few months I'll be 57.
