Over the last year I have sold off all of my turntables and arms, except for one, and so no longer have a dedicated set up for mono LPs. I am therefore selling my mono cartridge and dedicated mono phono stage. Both of these have been barely used, as I played mono records only a small fraction of the time.

The Shelter 501 II Mono is a true mono cartridge (not a strapped stereo cartridge). It is a high quality MC cartridge which sounds superb. I preferred it to the Lyra Dorian mono I recently sold. It has a rich, warm sound that gives mono records body and tonality. Note that this is a single coil design which may cause some hum with some phono stages (although not with the Tron mono phono stage - see below). As it was rarely used, I would estimate the cartridge has less than 30 hours of use, and would not be fully run in.

The Tron Convergence Mono phono stage is a high end phono stage designed purely for mono moving coil cartridges. It is a valve design, and includes an internal 1:10 step-up transformer, which I believe is made by Lundahl. It removes the ground loops that affect some mono cartridges, and is an ideal companion for a dedicated mono set up. It is also an amazing sounding phono stage. I use both a Tron Convergence MM phono stage and a Tron Seven Reference MC phono stage in my system, and the mono phono stage has the same exceptional build and sound quality. These phono stages are made by hand by Graham Tricker in the UK - more information can be found here: http://www.tron-electric.co.uk/phono-amplifiers/convergence-phono-stage/

The phono stage comes in its original packaging, is in mint condition and is less than a year old. It is a reluctant sale since I love the Tron phono stages (which is why I have three of them) but I have no plans to go back to multiple turntables or arms, so keeping it would be a waste. This is definitely one for the audiophile who has everything.

Pick up is available from Cammeray or the CBD, or I am happy to post.

Thanks, but the cartridge is definitely sold now.

The Tron phono stage is still available.

@rossb hi RossB, just saw that you sold your mono cartridge and are selling your mono phonostage.

Do you have any mono LP’s that you want to sell.?

I’m going to sell a bunch of records soon, mono and stereo. I just need to find some time to sort through them.

Dean, I will probably sell these as a bulk lot for pick up only, and it will probably take me months to get round to it any way...

Meanwhile, the Tron mono phono stage is still available, and I am open to reasonable offers.
