nuff talk with you.

Not interested in a crowd. Just you, one of you show you can hear it in a DBT. It must be a bleeding obvious difference as you are so confident. But you seem to need a cheer squad to actually have the courage of your convictions.

I sold off all my fancy power cords and am using medical grade (being orange means nothing) tested standard kettle cords sourced from a local hospital.  Good sound advise from @Zaphod Beeblebrox and @Ittaku

Your hospital has excess kettles to dispose of ?

Get whomever you want, as long as their hearing is not defective and they are not employed by Nordost.

and the demonstration is not run by Nordost or one of the other manufacturers. It's not like they'd have huge sums at stake.

It is called a debate.

I see no evidence of personal attacks at all, just robust discussion and I also fully acknowledge that people have the right to buy anything which they perceive to be better. It's their money, not mine.

You likewise must be fun at social event. Or are the only ones you attend filled with people who agree with you on everything?

just ignore him(a9x). he is full of sarcasm. you can never reason with a cable non-believer. just let them have their way and we have our way. good night everybody!

do you think my $1500 tag heuer is more accurate in predicting time than my $200 casio gshock? yes and no, maybe a tiny fraction better. does it correlate to the price performance i paid for?no.

alot of things in life you paid for the prestige, less much the performance. not just audio, anything.

what i am trying to say is you dont have to spend big bucks on cables.

the standard kettle cord already gives your system 80% performance. but if you have spare cash, why not? its your money...

Nope. A standard kettle cable gives you 100% performance. A fancy power cable gives you 100% performance.

Because Ittaku found no difference doesn't necessarily mean it's correct.

Absolutely, 100% correct. ONE person's observation does not make it a fact.

However, NOT ONCE, has anyone ever provided independent proof that fancy power cables make one jot of difference.

IOW: The gold standard for testing (placebo trial) has been applied by many people, over many years. NOT ONCE have the claims of fancy power cable proponents been verified.*

* Assuming, of course, that the connectors at each end are properly manufactured and mated.

as i said. nuff talk with you.

bring your kettlecord to a hifi show one day. go to nordost stand and challenge your kettlecord with their nordost odin.or bring your kettlecord to shunyata stand and challanged with their shunyata sigma. let the crowd be the judge.

i said it again: Let The Crowd be the Judge!

I can assure you that the Nordost people (or any other fancy power cable manufacturer) will NEVER allow a public comparison of the sort you describe. Never ever.

And there is a big lesson right there.

Let me also state that I have listened to Nordost speaker and interconnects and they certainly sound different (better?) than some other manufacturer's products under certain conditions.

Power cable differences are utterly inconsequential. Utterly and completely.

FTFY. I've stated a couple of times that I'm willing to change my mind in the light of actual evidence eg measured or someone passing a DBT. I somehow doubt you are though.

Doesn't matter if they are employed by Nordost. NO human on the planet can hear a difference between any two properly mated mains power cables in a placebo trial. That includes employees of the manufacturers of these cables.

Nice personal attack, especially when you don’t know me, empathy to others feelings seems to be not your strong point.

Seems like a good idea to me.
I would love to see the look on the faces in the crowd when the $5 kettle cord ssounds as good ( or the same ) as the Nordost. There would need to be an independent person to conduct the test though as Nordost has been known to conduct demos in a certain way in order to try and prove that $5K isn't a waste of time.
I'd say if you hyped the kettle cable appropriately, and told people it was worth 10k and showed them when you put it into the system, they'd be convinced it sounded light years better too.

Just an observation, partially phrased as a question. As rantan pointed out it was merely debate. Yet you didn't seem to want to allow that.

And you don't know me yet decided to do exactly the same thing you criticised me for. Hypocrite much?

Again, I will point out that you don't know me, so it's entirely your projection. Please desist.
