betty boop Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Had Tony from @Clarity Calibration over to calibrate my JVC NZ800, i have clocked up over 100 hours since getting in November.. the cricket and all movies have checked out since helped I knew from switch on of this projector when first got it i needed calibration .. its very obvious after using a calibrated projector last 5 years(Tony did my last JVC) .. and you instantly notice.. Walked in shortly after Tony started and he said yep your whites are white now ! that was music to my ears as i could see a yellow / green tinge to the whites(typical JVC out of box) and so wanted that fixed.. this is very obvious in one of movies below No Country for Old Men i have on 4k uhd blu-ray..latest criterion release Pre calibration( i have this screen shot from prior to calibration, will find it in the movie release thread) Post calibration form Tony, you'd have to be a blind monkey to not see the difference and it looks even better with actual eyes looking at the larger screen..no more yellow green.. far more natural and even the details are far more obvious ! when showed the wife of course she joked initially to say "they look the same" haha daughter said the difference is crazy ! and she is right .. its unbelievable actually and shows the necessity of calibrating and particuarlry so something as awesome as this JVC nz800 ! the movie benefits in other ways .. in the dessert shots its very bright and pre calibration looks a bit blown out when the character here is walking amongst the dead in the gang shoot out.. now post calibration no longer blown out looks real natural... I popped in Gemini man... just out of curiosity.. Tony had left at this stage... i wanted to call him back ! to see how good it looked Gemini man too ..as awesome as it was didnt look quite good enough to my eyes pre calibration but now gosh now Tony is true to his name with Clarity calibration...he sure brings clarity ! and this is all more noticeable with your own eyes looking at the screen.. screen shots dont capture.. but when i looked at scenes below .. i was just in awe ! Stunning ! It trully is like you are standing next to Will Smith or on that train in the scenes the detail, clarity, natural look to the picture ... I also checked out bladerunner 2049 out of curiosity and saw the same thing ...just in awe of the clarity and naturalness of this shot ... also the clarity and shadow details of this shot as well.. I also checked out blu-ray... in "the american"... mr and mrs smith. also the Revenant in 4k uhd blu-ray which has some stunning filmography especially the light and dark scenes... Lovely stuff and all the more enjoyable with the calibration.. thank you Tony 5 3
Kaynin Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Bladerunner 2049 is a beautiful looking movie, and some real contrasts in imagery between scenes. 3

The realism and depth is undisputable. It makes you want to re-watch everything you own again! What a pleasure it is. I hope you are making lots of time to watch and watch, specially when the weather gets better. 1 1
