I expect that the N model will kick our new projectors arse and will be disappointed if it doesn't.

Prepare to be disapointed.

Come on Owen 'enough with the negatives' to try and quote a old movie one liner. ... surely there is something in life that occasionally puts a smile on your face? ... ?

cheers Terry

Not "negatives" mate, realities. You pick up a small increase in resolution that only benifits a small minority of content and lose contrast with ALL content. The rest is just fluff.

Sony would make me happy if they would just get their act together and build products that lived up to their markeing. They have been deceiving and lying to consumers for many years.

I’m in the same boat, couldn’t hold off any longer and pulled the pin on a 7900 as was looking at the N5 but can’t justify $9000 on it when I got the 7900 for $5150, so was a no brainer. The size of the 7900 and the lens cover were also a big factor.

once I work out what screen size I can fit, I’ll be getting one of Rich’s 2:37 screens as my last 1:85 screen from him was amazing.

You won’t regret that the x7900 is a fantastic machine. I just had my x9900 calibration done after 140hrs and it’s bloody magnificent. I have a mate who has the x7900 and I can’t tell the difference. Sooo happy [emoji2].

Looks like woofer will be doing a comparison soon-

Quote

I will have an NX9 here in my own theatre room VERY shortly and will be comparing to my current Z1/RS4500 and X9900 and my friends Sony 760ES and X9500..

I guess than means local stock is soon here or a pre-production model that JVC Australia is lending out?

if anything shows the sleeper in this is the epson... if they got their act to gather to get the ls10500 upto current spec they'd clean up... but then it would also end up costing the $15k or what ever it original cost I suppose :D

Although not official, I’ve been told that $11999 for the N7 is legit. Should arrive in December. Looking forward to it! I’m ready!

What made you spend so much on the Spyder5 Elite when the express is exactly the same (other then the software) hardware wise?

I’ll use it to calibrate my various desktop and laptop pc monitors in addition to the projector. The difference between the versions is the Elite has better calibration software on the PC than the Express. If I was just buying it to calibrate the projector I would have only got the Express.

Yeah makes sense. I’ll be using mine just for the projector so think I’ll save some money and get the express then

Does anyone know whether JVC are planning to continue the 7900 model until March and whether there will b pice like in the USA. Same model retails for $3999 there

From what I understand they will be, but the dollar ( USD ) will make the pricing different here. NX9 in the US is $17990 but apparently $27000 in Australia so I wouldn’t think it will change terribly much to the current pricing, which is still very good value for what your getting. Still a guessing game but.

the prior us model as per the us guys are just selling at the reduced street pricing they were prior. in any case so if anything expect the same here....they are an awesome price as it is get while can. from all accounts they only have limited chips left and when run out they run out. not making any more....

in any case this thread is for 2019 model releases. so please take your older model questions to the older model threads :)

thanks oz ... there appears some debacle in the winds :D parts availability, parts problem, supplier problem ? all could be rumours who knows .... that might upset whole apple cart.... kind of thing I've seen in manufacturing too, holding up the whole release process. but looks like driving some folks overseas to hit the snooze button. anyways what's the rush... all in good time.

Yeah have to agree with you there. @:) al

Personally, one of the new models isn't even on my radar, but watching the AVS "Anticipation"thread which is hitting close to 10000 posts is doing my head in.

It's like watching a traffic accident. You know you shouldn't, but you can't look away.

People with way too much time on their hands having a nervous breakdown about a delay in the release of a good damn projector range.

Threats to cancel pre-orders of $US18000 models because they might not land for another 2-3 weeks.

"I'll just have to buy the Sony instead because I can't wait that long."

Not only must they have way too much time, but shed loads of money as well.

( Actually, that was probably confirmed when Javs briefly de-railed the thread with a photo of his Audi and all of a sudden about 3 pages were filled with photos of peoples Ferrari's and an Aston Martin. LOL)

First world problems.
