LHC Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 While there is already a 'Soundtrack currently spinning' thread, I thought a different thread focusing on specific songs, scores and themes from film and TV could still be worthwhile. What better way to kick start this then with an original duet from the new version of A Star is Born. Looks likely to score an Oscar nomination at least. 2
Citroen Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Who would've thought that Bradley could sing. I reckon this is an even better example of his talent. 4
LHC Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 This is a big showpiece song from the Hugh Jackman movie.
LHC Posted October 26, 2018 Author Posted October 26, 2018 Why not do them all at once. Here is a quick refresh of all the Oscar winners for Best Original Song from 1934 to 2018. 1

I think you are correct in general, although audience taste may have changed also in that time. Another way to look at it is to compare the Oscars winners in best original score. The YouTube channel Winduct has several videos of Oscars best score, one for each decade. I won't link them all here, but just the '60s and '00s for comparison. (IMO I reckon the '70s had the best music scores)
glenm64 Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Cadillac Records. Great movie. Im not a Beyonce top 40 music fan, but boy she played and sung Etta wonderfully. 1 1

LHC Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 This is the iconic Mission Impossible TV theme. It transitioned very well into their franchise movies and still sounds fresh today. 1
LHC Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 Taron Egerton does the actual vocal here. Pretty good effort.

Watched this the other night....wow what a movie... great story line, super simple, Bradley Cooper as the lead and director nailed it with the decision with Lady Ga Ga. Originally this was to be directed by Clint Eastwood and Ally played by Beyoncé.....never eventuated! Got to admit it, Lady Ga Ga, nailed and killed ever scene. 1
LHC Posted July 19, 2019 Author Posted July 19, 2019 Inspired by the new Top Gun Maverick trailer, must watch the classic song from the original. I truly hope they feature this song again in the new film in some way. 3
almikel Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 I'd never heard of Nick Drake before I heard "Northern Sky" towards the end of the movie "Serendipity" with the help of IMDB I was introduced to Nick Drake's music...and I quite enjoyed the movie Mike 3
