Tony C Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Young Skywalker. great to finally meet you the other night at the melody/ WLM GTG. Still thinking about a high quality valve headphone amp. Must be others whon would be interested as well. cheers. Tony C
WarwickF Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Regarding the Yamamoto headphone amplifier here is a link to Yamamoto's website: http://www2.117.ne.jp/~y-s/HA-02-new-e.html Also a review on 6moons http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/yamamoto4/ha02.html Pure Music Group are agents for Yamamoto but we do not stock this item as there is not a large market for them here. Mr Yamamoto builds to order, he does not have them ex stock. I am willing to order them for anyone who wants one, and I can do a better price for quantity in a group buy. However I cannot offer the 30 day money back guarantee in this instance because I cannot return them to Yamamoto. I hope you will understand this. So far everyone who has bought Yamamoto from us is in love with the product so I am confident that buyers will be happy. Regards Warwick
Tony C Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Hi Warwick, Great to meet you last Wednesday night. I am certainly interested in the Head phone amp and hopefully others are too. If you don't get any other requests can you PM me with an estimated Price on the unit. Congratulations on a terrific evening at Tommy's the other night. Tony C.
k371n Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 let me chime in again Yes please.I've asked Warwick about the Yamamoto HA-02 before this event. http://www2.117.ne.jp/~y-s/index-e.html Aaron (Young Skywalker) runs a 2-watter A-08 with his Zu Defs. Beautifully hand-crafted amps especially if you're into wood. Just need to listen to one before deciding.[/b] here's a few users' reviews: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.p...hlight=yamamoto and another from 6moons http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/yamamoto4/ha02.html I've been looking at tube headphone amps and have shortlisted a few. k_
Tony C Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Hey Warwick! That's two off us and i have another client that would make three. Anybody else out there? Might effect our bottom line. Cheers tony C. Warwick is two worthwhile? Tony C

Regards Warwick[/b] Warwick, I would be grateful if you would stop representing products that entice me to purchase. I have biils to pay and mouths to feed.......... That HA-02 looks (and sounds I am sure) absolutely gorgeous!
Tony C Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Hey Wadiaman. I want one too! So am I buying Zu definitions or are you buying Magico's. Cheers!
davidsss Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 The bills do keep coming in (a few big ones lately, ouch). Makes it very hard after seeing such nice gear going around. I must have patience. DS
Young Skywalker Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 <div align="center"></div> This is a recent photo of my Yamamoto Sound Craft A-08S SET amplifier with Emission Labs solid plate 45 tubes atop a Sound Mechanics Performance platform wrapped in figured sycamore veneer. I have a Sound Mechanics 4-shelf rack in the same finish in case anyone is interested, there is simply too much gear at my place and not enough space to accomodate it all. As you can see the Yamamoto gear is beautifully finished and impeccably constructed by a single craftsman one piece at a time. The headphone amplifier would be a real sweetheart I suspect. I wish I had the cash to flesh out the group order. Cheers, Aaron
Tony C Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Young Skywalker. The Yamamoto Gear looks sensational and I'm sure sounds very respectable. Is there a minimum order required to make the Headphone amps worth your while? Even on an indent situation?. Maybe sometime in the future? Must be a market for this kind of equipment.Night shift workers etc. cheers Tony C
Young Skywalker Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Tony, These are the first enquiries we have had since the glowing 6moons review of the Yammy/Audio Technica W1000 combo. I am not sure it would ever make sense to stock these amps in Australia but group orders of three at a time would be workable I suspect. I am just working through the head-fi thread regarding the Yammy, it seems to play well with many different headphones, most surprising of all the Sennheiser HD-6xx series, very interesting. I use a Musical Fidelity X-CANv3 with Sennheiser HD-600s and cardas replacement cable at the moment but the Yammy/AT W1000 combo looks mighty fine. Aaron

Aaron[/b] Aaron, Let me register my interest in the HA-02. I have Senn 600s but if they don't work so well with the Yammy, then I am open to change to a pair that will work with my Headroom Solid State (there I said it!) amp as well. PM me with a price before we pull the trigger. Greg
Tony C Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Young Skywalker. k371n & Myself. Wadiaman expressing interest, and I have one potential customer. Maybe worth following up. Take deposits on firm orders and feel out the market on anybody else who may be interested. You might be sitting on a Goldmine. SNA is good for feeling out the market! In any case keep me in mind if anything eventuates. ( Keep in mind IPod ).Tony C
WarwickF Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I think that 4 pieces or more is enough to get the ball rolling. I will ask Yamamoto-San for a price and see what we can do. If there are any other Yamamoto products of interest to forum members it might be a good time to speak up now. Bringing in one bulk shipment always saves cost and if I do not have to finance holding stock I can pass the saving on to you. TonyC, can I ask you please to start a new thread for this topic because it is in the Melody thread and really needs its own thread. Maybe one of the moderators can shift the discussion so far into that thread as well. All the best Warwick

k371n Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 wow, this group buy is moving along fast. at this stage I'll need to listen to one before purchase. I've expressed this in threads I've posted about the Yammy. so, if there are enough folks wanting to buy the amp in this group buy please proceed with it. judging the responses so far it looks like a group buy is in order. please don't let me hold this up then again, the group buy price might be very very tempting indeed on another note, krool (who's new here) attended a recent headphone/amp GTG in Sydney recently. lots of excellent gear to listen to. maybe in time we could hold one here in Melb. cheers kevin_
jordansugars Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I'm after a new amp and this sounds very promising. Consider me interested. Anyone have a rough figure for a price??
WarwickF Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 The price I would normally have to charge for the HA-02 is $1250 including GST. It will be less than that, how much less depends on Yamamoto-San and the shipping company. I will let you know as soon as I receive the prices. I will post the price here and those wishing to purchase can PM me. Warwick
joz Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I'm interested here. After staying up last night listening to music with my sens 600's,I'm keen on exploring the possibilites. SO whorver is in charge, please keep me in the loop
Tony C Posted May 7, 2007 Author Posted May 7, 2007 Thank's Warwick. That price seems very reasonable. That barely buys you a decent set of interconnects. I'm Keen. Tony C
Tony C Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 Young Skywalker & Warwick I just read the review on 6 Moons regarding the YamamotoHA-02. Now I want one yesterday. How are numbers going on a group order. I'm willing to be a Crash Test dummie if no one else bites. Tony C
Young Skywalker Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Hi Tony, It sounds very good doesn't it? WarwickF is still waiting to hear back from Yamamoto regarding group pricing. Can we have a show of hands from those who are genuinely interested in ordering this time around if the price comes in under $1250? Aaron
Tony C Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 Young Skywalker. Count me in. Hands and feet in the air. Tony C
