Tony C Posted July 27, 2007 Author Posted July 27, 2007 MINE!!!!!!!. Wonder whether it's to late to get Warwick from Pure Music Group to get a signature on some Silk Paper (or something Japanese) for keepsake or better still framing. Just adding to the prestige. Tony C

Tony C[/b] Maybe You can inquire about the possibility of having Your serial number stamped as SE-001
WarwickF Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I am just catching up with the chatter here guys. I have been sending weekly emails to Yamamoto-San and he is acutely aware we are sweating on progress. It is still a few weeks of so hold tight. I have had some recent enquiries to join the bandwagon so if anyone is interested I will add to the order at the current price and do a second shipment. I cannot let it delay the present order though so you will have to wait. I am going to ask Yamamoto-San to personally sign each owner's manual if he does not mind. All the best. Warwick

Tony C Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 Hi Warwick, Yes nice touch, A signature on the owners manual would be fantastic. Did you tell him he has a bit of a cult following here in OZ now? Second group orders, that's fantastic news. Was I right, I thought there would be a small but appreciative market for this kind of product? Still crossing the X's on the calander. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Cheers Tony C
WarwickF Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Good news for those who are patiently waiting for their HA-02 Headphone Amplifiers. Four pieces were shipped last week and arrived today. TonyC, Wadiaman, TonyG and Joz are first cabs off the rank. Gav and Jeff, sorry you have to wait a little longer, it will be worth the wait. Yamamoto-San is furiously building stuff so I hope the wait will not be too much longer. My initial impression is that whilst the photos looked great the tactile feel of the thing is something else. I am sure everyone is going to be very happy. I have ordered one extra piece for stock so if someone would like it they can avoid the 12 week waiting time. All the best Warwick
Keith_W Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Good to know. Did Tony C get the lowest serial number?
WarwickF Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Tony chose the one he wanted and it was the lowest number. Warwick
Moondog Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 TonyC left my place over 4 hours ago , New tube amp on board , Has not been heard of or seen since. Thought about tying to escape with wadiamans amp in hand , but just couldn't do it
wadiaman Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Well the Yamamoto eagle has landed! Tony C kindly picked our two up from Warwick F this afternoon and I now have mine in my hot little hands. And does it feel good or what! Yamamoto-san should be proud of the quality of this piece. A couple of quick pics just to give a preview. It is all plugged in now, albeit in a temporary location, and off and running for a hundred or so hours to run-in the transformers and associated parts. Only five days I guess. I am planning to use an old Rotel CDP and / or an iPod as the front end (till something better comes along) and listen through my Sennheiser 600 with the Stefan AudioArt Equinox cable, and an old pair of Jecklin Floats Model Two just for fun! Sorry but I have resisted the temptation to listen to it 'cold'. Maybe over the weekend.........

jrisles Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Gav and Jeff, sorry you have to wait a little longer, it will be worth the wait.[/b] What!!! I gotta sit here & suffer whilst i read the posts going up about the Yamamoto ... nice one guys .. talk about valve envy. I am listening to one of my all time favourite pieces of classical music at the time i saw this post - Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D Min - II. Largo Man Non Tanto (BVW 1043) by Richard Tognetti on my ATH-W5000's & i just can't wait to hear this piece through the Yamamoto on my headphones. I reckon it will give me goosebumps ...
slwiser Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Vicariously watching and reading the impressions, waiting for mine....
Drizt Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Wow that looks sensational. Can't wait for some reports on how they perform Well the Yamamoto eagle has landed! hired goon Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 G'day, I am listening to one of my all time favourite pieces of classical music at the time i saw this post - Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D Min - II. Largo Man Non Tanto (BVW 1043) by Richard Tognetti ...[/b] I love the Bach violin concertos, especially BWV 1043, though I haven't heard the Tognetti. Gunna have to sniff that one out ... (and maybe look into this headphone amp business as well) --Geoff

I think headphones come into their own on single instrument recordings because soundstage is not such a big issue. Recordings like Bach' Cello Suites or Bach' Sonatas & Partitas (Tognetti does both of these on the ABC label). Late at night when it is simply so quite & it is probably inconvenient to have your 2ch stereo on anyhow just don a pair of decent quality headphones & get carried away.
Bronal Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Warwick: I'd be interested in the extra amp, if it's still available. How much is it? What are the headphones most suitable for it? I currently have AKG 701s. Cheers Alan

Hmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!! Still trying to work out where to put it. On the coffee table in the centre of the room or somewhere amongst the rack with much higher quality interconnects and possible a high quality extension cable for the phones. Don't you just love the new dilema's. Still haven't had a chance to listen yet. The yamamoto is definately in the Jewelry for men category though. Tony C

Tony C[/b] Hi Tony, You are right about men's jewellery. I got the initial setup done last night. The Wadiawoman walked out this morning and pointed and said 'We need this why????'. Sadly what she was pointing at and what she thought what I had acquired was the eight year old Rotel CDP in the rack and totally missed the gloriously glowing Yamamoto on the top shelf! I too have placement concerns. Should I use an iPod somewhere as the front end (while I think about buying something better), or do I just plonk the Yamamoto next to the Wadia and get a decent front end at no incremental cost. Ah decisions decisions..... And many thanks to Moondog for not stealing my amp when he had the chance last evening!

I vote next to the wadia , That way I know where is is if the temptation comes back.
