Item: Whise HA-1500 (Nakamichi Dragon) active hybrid electrostatic speakers
Location: Moggill - Brisbane's western suburbs
Price: $3500
Item Condition: good
Reason for selling: consolidating - too much stuff and will not suit apartment living.
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info: Best speakers I have ever owned. Nothing comes close. Oh, as you may agree, they also happen to be some of the sexiest speakers you could ever lay eyes on. Even my wife says they're beautiful.

But, I have too much stuff and these will not suit the small spaces we have been looking at when apartment/unit shopping.

Deep, accurate and plentiful bass, along with holographic imaging to die for. And they go loud. The 3 micron film also responds accurately to the minutest dynamics. All you'll need is a source and preamp or a source with volume control and you're good to go. You can run power amps to them if you would prefer as they also have high-level inputs on the rear. However, these do have 2 x 100w power amps inside each speaker - one for the panel and the other for the 2 x 8" isobaric ported woofers. These saw off my Aurum Cantus Leisure II SE and then my base model Martin Logans with ease. I also auditioned up into the middle range of Martin Logan's range and still preferred these. And the bass really is very surprising, both, the quality and quantity. Some very handy controls on the rear will let you adjust the tone somewhat to personal and room tastes. 2 x 2m after market power cables are included (solid copper contacts in the plugs at each end).

A good read about these speakers from this very forum:

They've been used in a dedicated music room in a smoke free home.

Due to size and weight, I really would prefer pick up. If you really do want these and need shipping, you'll need to arrange pick up and freighting yourself please. We do not have the means to take them to a Pack'n'Send or freight agent. I paid PnS to get these up to me from Victoria and they packed better than Whise do so I am sure they could do that again for anyone interested. I can be home at any time by arrangement for pick up.

These are very hard to beat for this kind of money. One of the best electrostatic speakers ever produced & easily competes with Martin Logan & Quad.

The thing I love about these speakers is they have very low bass in such a small box because of their isobaric configuration & is seamless with the rest of the speaker.GLWTS as these are one of the best speakers I have heard under $10000 & was meant to be a wife pleaser at the same time.

I agree. They took a while for me to originally set-up and work out how to get the best out of them - but then, I still think these were the best speakers I have had in my listening area. Bargain price for active speakers.

I sold mine with the flight cases which were perfect for transport - they were originally built/tested by dropping from a 3m height by the manufacturer! If you ask around I am sure others would probably still have the flight cases which maybe could be borrowed for transport. I lent mine out several times when I had them.
