Sub Sonic Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) I came across an old pair of speaker cabinets today, purchased them and brought them home. Inside was a pair of vintage Pioneer PAX-A20 coaxial drivers, with a little horn arrangement in front of the tweeter. They sound pretty reasonable from a first listen, all drivers are working fine. A quick look online seems to indicate they are reasonable drivers. Just wondering if anyone here has had experience with these or any other vintage Pioneer coaxials/wide range drivers? Photos below are mostly stock pics but they are the same as mine. More info here, cabinets appear to be the same as mine: https://audio-database.com/PIONEER-EXCLUSIVE/unit/pax-a20-e.html Cheers, SS First pic is mine: Edited January 4, 2019 by Sub Sonic 1
mwhouston Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 I can see a nice pair of pencil towers made from these drivers. Should provide a really nice pair of second or primary speakers. 1

Or like this; http://retro-thermionic.blogspot.com/2018/08/voxuno-12p-with-markaudio-drivers.html Do you have Full specs for the driver. You could use an online modeller for the box. Or or use the original box specs. 1
Bunya Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 How are the pax going any update or feed back to provide? Have you made a cabinet for them yet? Would you recommend them ?
