Anyone else have delivery issues every time these muppets are involved in deliveries.

No matter what or when they are assigned a delivery, from Amazon or some other ebay vendor - they can never ever deliver anything on time.

You talk to their customer service and completely useless as they can't even ready their web own site half the time.

Everyone complains about Australia post, but generally they always delivery in time or earlier for all my small items like records.

yup absolutely worst, and often never turn up for pickups either. I've been using sendle, who give money back if not picked up after 2 days and then use someone else.

I've never once been happy with them either. That said, this thread will probably be closed pretty quickly as generally badmouthing services doesn't go down too well here.

Courier experiences are always anecdotal, but I must say that I have never heard or read anything good about Fastway and I would never use them. There are so many better alternatives in the marketplace ,but definitely excluding Startrack. I was once told by them that my address did not exist and that no house was built on our half acre of land.

I would never ever use them either , but Amazon do  so you have to suk it - despite me complaining several times that they should never use them. They even agreed that they had lots of complaints and would escalate.

Except for Cope Transport, they're all bad. Some are less bad than others. The absolute worst are TNT. Not only did they manage to destroy an amplifier I sent to Cairns, but then refused to pay on the insurance. I will never deal with them again. Cope, OTOH, operate on a completely different level.

I have a business and we used them a lot.

However, we had issues with Delivery. Especially in Melbourne. Absolutely hopeless.

We even had a driver tell us he'd put stickers on for us when we were short. He was using the cheapest, and replacing with thye dearest.

Fastway?? Try Lastway or LOSTway

Never again.

Thanks for the heads up about Cope. Do they deal with businesses only though?

I wish. When I last inquired, they explained that I had to write something like $5k/month with them. Naturally, my requirements are minuscule, but I have used a client's account a couple of times. I was very impressed with the way they treat items.

Yes they only deal business to business and need to be a minimum size.  they specialise in sensitive computer, electronics freight.  I use them for my all my work's national freight.

The problem with Fastway is the individual franchise owner (courier). If they give a **** then all is good, otherwise you are in trouble. Our local guy in McLaren Vale is excellent, but there are plenty of muppets in the company.

Couriers Please get my vote for the worst in Australia. They have never delivered anything on time, and usually the delivery takes longer to travel a few suburbs in Perth than getting from the East to the West Coast to begin with.

Sorry to read this.

However I have to say that CP have always served me very well indeed and they would be my default courier choice.

It could possibly have something to do with the same driver working and collecting in my area and we are always friendly to one another as he has been collecting stuff from here for several years.

This. I could handle a few days late, but throwing boxes around marked fragile shows their contempt for customers.

I've used them for a one-off private (non-business) interstate job. You just have to ask them.

Very good service.

Reading through this, it sounds like every courier service is absolutely the worst! :cool:

(Maybe except for the previous post.)

Well, it seems that no-one (who deals with private individuals) gets a bouquet?  They're all as useless as each other!  :(

In my case, AusPost scores minus 100 (the lowest score you can get), on account of the fact that they never delivered my Benz LP, after it had arrived back in Oz (from the UK, where it got re-tipped) - and paid me a lousy $500 in compensation.  The f*ckers told me they had the courier's mobile phone tracked to my front door - and as he'd marked the parcel as 'Delivered" ... it must've been.

And as he was no longer a courier ... they couldn't question him further - which is the fundamental issue with just about all courier companies, these days.  They no longer employ the couriers themselves  - they subcontract out deliveries to contracting firms - who in turn, use subcontractors for the actual job of delivering.  So no-one GAF ... and no-one is interested in doing a good job.

Then I pointed out to AusPost that I had a "Hold the Mail" instruction for that date - so they shouldn't have even tried to deliver it!  Which shut them up!

By the way, I know someone who did some contract work for Auspost and said they're the only ones he'd never use because freight is NOT their primary business, but more importantly, their sorting machine is 2 storeys high and things regularly fall off...

Our local fastway franchisee is useless, often just pops a "SORRY WE MISSED YOU" card in the letterbox WITHOUT EVEN KNOCKING TO SEE IF YOU ARE HOME

Another time he just lobbed my parcel over the gate and onto the tiled porch destroying the iPad inside

I try avoid them at all cost...

One of our suppliers just dumped them over repeated stuff ups. uber clown factory, avoid like a fatty with an STD.

I should add that one of the least worst carriers I've found is E-Go ( e-go.com.au ). They're reasonably priced and I've experienced few problems (so far). They are an offshoot of Hunter Express (a Newcastle based operation) and I tend to see the same faces for pick-up and delivery (which is a good thing). The downside? You cannot 'phone them. Every communication must be done via email/website. A few tips for first time E-Go users:

* Tick the re-delivery box!

* Tick the re-delivery box!

* Tick the re-delivery box!

Those are the three most important things.

most are expensive and useless,

I don't like aust post but at least in most cases they deliver in a reasonable time

1 trick I do is when insurance is asked for I quote and pay for double the amount

as item is worth say $1000,i quote $2000

if lost or damaged beyond repair customer gets their money back $1000

and I do not loose the $1000 of value the item has for myself

 I have not had to claim yet so al is good

e-go transport I have used 2 times

1 was a complete disaster , a $5k amp went missing for 3 months ,eventually found in good order

no harm done

the other good

Interesting read.

My worst is Northern - cheap quote but always charge extras.

Freight brokers are a winner - often cheaper than what you can get direct and better online systems. Currently using Transdirect after quitting Your Freight Agent and the Northern couriers mega fees.
