predictably good. compression used correctly.

I'll check that - thanks.

Compression is so difficult to master. I've tried - albeit briefly - and failed. Much prefer to create without it but that's not always possible when collaborating.

DJ kicks is usually pretty good and this is one of the best from them for sure!

Kurbeats - Folktronica -- as its name suggests: a blending of electronics, Scandanavian folk music and a goodly dollop of ear candy. Kinda Shponglesque. Another quality release available for nowt on Ektoplazm.

Sweet Jesus - apparently this is 128 KBPS 16/44.1. Perhaps it's my portable rig but this sounds decent and is an absolutely stunning progressive house set by one of Spain's finest exponents of driving, dark, loopy, and melodic Tech House. The first mix isn't too bad, but the second mix is just up front mayhem. Brings back memories of dark clubs, sweaty dance floors, and writhing bodies pulsating to the beat of a DJ in the zone:

Their break out 2nd album is still their best. Sounds great on vinyl.

The first two hours of Sasha's 6 hour set at Sound Nightclub in LA.

It's deep, dark, and atmospheric and see's Sasha laying down some of the tracks he'll be releasing in his upcoming Late Night Tales offering. I don't think there's much here over 120 BPM, and is classic Sasha building/programming his set with a view to taking his audience on a journey into the depths of hypnotic progressive house.

I caught a brilliant set from Duncan Gray at a free party in the city on Sat supported by Wilson&Sommerville pity no bugger turned up. It was chug at it's best.......

I think there is a growing trend of 120 to 126 bpm music spreading through some of the old school DJ's. Sasha, Andrew weatherall, Duncan Gray from nights like A.L.F.O.S. and great labels like Tici Taci. I really like it.... Thinking mans music.

This is rather wonderful. I somehow think it is a better sign of some hope for mankind, than having your progeny learning to ' shake that ass" and ' put a ring on it'.
