Hey Guys,
Make sure you get your dose of Kiasmos and Jon Hopkins. The beats are bliss.

Hi All,

Steve Roach, Atmosphere For Dreaming

From Bandcamp:

Atmosphere for Dreaming Steve Roach presents a masterfully realized immersive habitat that is instantly transportive, organic and alive. The verdant environment of hovering, sustained earthbound atmospherics comingle with a surreal processed Australian outback ambience resulting in a sonic ecosystem of tranquility and renewal.

This 74 minute longform immersion zone is an evolution of the pre-concert soundworld that quietly permeated the performance venue before the start of the 2018 Return To The Dreamtime shows in Tucson and Santa Fe, as well as experienced on the SomaFM broadcasts of the concerts. This release also shares its intention and spirit with the longform classic The Dream Circle which was also born as a pre-concert atmosphere before evolving to its current state. Atmosphere For Dreaming is designed for infinite looped playback.

Nocturnal Sunshine- Full Circle.

Not quite as good as the album above, a tad more hip hop influenced. Still good, thanks @metal beat for putting me onto her. ?

Murcof - Remembranza.

Former Nortec Collective member Murcof (a.k.a. Terrestre, Fernando Corona) takes minimal electronica to the conservatory. Murcof‘s 2002 debut disc, Martes, earned kudos for its lithe assemblage of glitchy textures, surgical beats and lush, neo-classical timbres. The Mexican producer effectively made holy-minimalist composers like Górecki and Pärt do the clicks‘n‘cuts jitterbug. On Remembranza, Murcof engineers a painstakingly intricate mosaic of classical/chamber- orchestral atoms into somber, haunting compositions for 21st-century ears. His sporadic beats are generally muted and skittery, with gorgeously languorous piano motifs and pathos-laden strings. Observe a master at work. - XLR8R

Nocturnal Sunshine ‎– Nocturnal Sunshine - beautiful hypnotic dubstep from Maya Jane Coles

After your recommendations MB I emailed Dada's, my fave record shop and found they had her 2013 album Comfort in stock so got myself into the city and bought it. On first listen enjoyed it, early impressions are that the music is indeed trip-hop leaning (Tricky guesting!!), perhaps somewhere between Trentemoller, a darker Morcheeba and maybe someone like Oakenfold. Not a bad area to inhabit in my opinion, though I hope the tendency to a touch of "samieness" in the tracks will be lost as I get to listen more and hear the detail in the music.

Interesting to hear that she has moved into dubstep, seems like she is, on the one hand a decade behind the times, on the other re-investing in well-worn/loved genres that have plenty of life left to those with imagination and talent for those who still hanker after that stuff (me).
