Grimmie Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 (edited) Just played Maya Jane Coles' 'Comfort'. Not a bad album but a bit meh! doesn't help that it was obviously recorded in a mud-pit Contrast that to my next album 'Unreasonable Behaviour' by Laurent Garnier. Heavy, hard and clear. Grimmie Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Whilst on things French, Etienne De Crecy, 'Tempovision'. - Damn ....I'd forgotten how effin' great this album is. Haven't played it in years but a real classic. When I first bought it in the early naughties I didn't quite know what I was listening to and took me ages to appreciate the Gallic goodness. Today it was like seeing a old buddy for the first time in ages, - loved it. 1

Grimmie Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 (edited) French Score Fabulous Hat-Trick. To finish for now Mark Moulin's mostly jazz but heavily electronic/dance influenced 'Top Secret'. Awesome afternoon fixing kitchen cupboards and then cooking interspersed with intervals of must just sit and listen to this bit. all the while sippin' on - you guessed it Pernod, lemonade and mineral water. Great stuff Edited February 12, 2020 by Grimmie 2
waxman Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 (edited) Az-Ra - Escape Velocity Greg Hunter does it again - this time his alias is Az-Ra. In his words: "These tracks were written after I had an OOBE in 2010..." It sounds like it. Seriously trippy, dub influenced ambiance. 24-Bit Wav or Flac download. This release requires headphones and a whisky. Edited February 15, 2020 by waxman 1

Just so happens ... I bought that Maya Jane Coles - Comfort CD on the weekend (I still 'do' CD) ... could it have been that I'd subliminally seen it here ??? ... Nah - it was $2.99 at JB HiFi. It's OK ... and especially for that price. (Edit: I just had another listen - More 'clubby' but somewhat reminiscent of Róisín Murphy). I also have some Laurent Garnier digital downloads ... Tales of a Kleptomaniac La Home Box La Home Box (Remixes) My other CD (x2) purchase on the weekend is excellent, regardless of it's $7.99 price tag ... James Zabiela - Life, a compilation continuous mix dual CD with a quality line-up. Edited February 18, 2020 by ShellstaX a bit more commentary

Nice one man. I have two Speedy J CD's, picked up after catching his set at Gatecrasher in Sydney, circa 2000-2004, can't remember for sure. It was at Homebush, somewhere in the Olympics Park, and it was the first time I had witnessed such heavy police presence, and it really put a damper on the night. Speedy's set was definitely the highlight for me. Cheers. Ant. 1
