metal beat Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 i love the beloved! saw them play live at flim flam at the phoenician club. would have been '91 or 92 love jon marsh's voice. I agree, really dig everything they have done. Saw them play X live at the metro in the day. Biggest regret was not going to see them on NYE when Happiness was released. Jons voice is very soothing and very English. I wish they would release another album

wim Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) Ancient Methods: a mythical creature found near the dark core of techno. With just seven 12-inches released since first sightings back in 2007, Ancient Methods has become so closely intertwined with the Berlin (and European) techno scene that it’s almost surprising they haven’t been around much longer. This week they visited FluxFM‘s studios for our Electronic Beats on Air radio show and recorded a mix that, although always close to the four-to-the-floor kickdrum, also explores electronica territories with Raster Noton or the ambient minimalism of Voices from the Lake. However, with names like Joey Beltram, Lucy and Sleeparchive on the tracklist, you can be quite sure to get the full Ancient Methods ‘pitch black techno war funk’ dosage here—a term coined by Boomkat in 2007 that is still as fitting as ever. Tacklist: 1. Corrado Izzo – The Golden Age Sandbenders Maischein Remix (Gadgets) 2. Octave – Hacked (Giorgio Gigli Remix) / Lucy – Catch Twenty Two (Stroboscopic Artefacts) 3. Voices From The Lake – Respiro Live Edit (Bunker New York) 4. L’estasi Dell’oro – Iscariotic Lips Acapella (Macro) / John Hopkins – Collider Karenn Remix (Domino) 5. Basic Implant – Drumless Days (Touch Tone) / Rude 66 – The 1000 Year Storm (Creme Organization) 6. Black Egg – Ohne Hände (Aufnahme + Wiedergabe) 7. ASSS – Halt Sex Mi (Haunted Air) / Atom ™ – Ich bin meine Maschine (Raster Noton) 8. Eomac – Chob (Candela Rising) 9. Musumeci – Paura (Mannequin) / Joey Beltram – Ball Park Rush Beat Mix (Tresor) 10. Pjotr Klejment – Black March Sleeparchive Remix (Technosoul) 11. DJ Punisher – A1 (L.A. Club Resource) / Prolife – Overheated (Sacred Bones) 12. Profligate – Video Tape (Not Not Fun) 13. Sharkimaxx – Clashback (Soma Quality) 14. Planetary Assault Systems – Trek (Peacefrog) 15. Bourbonese Qualk – Lies (Recloose Organization) / Kalter Ende – Trolley (Concerns) 16. Ottodox – Through The Storm (Semper Idem) / Gesloten Cirkel – Stakan (Murder Capital) 17. Killing Sound – Eight Methods (Blackest Ever Black) / Monya – Steine im Weg (Corresponding Positions) 18. Drax – Phosphene (Trope) / Allerseelen – Ernting (Storm) 19. Kill Memory Crash – T.Bombay (Ghostly International) / Kommando R.J.F. – A2 (Posh Isolation) 20. Lebanon Hanover – Midnight Creature (Aufnahme + Wiedergabe) / Victim – Victim (Another Dark Age) Edited February 16, 2015 by wim 4
