Guest Y B Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I really enjoy the album too and agree it's a dumb cover! Do you have the clear or black vinyl?
ferchersan Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Hi @Y B, I have the black vinyl though it is very noisy during the ambient suite. Will have to give it a clean before I spin it again. Cheers, Leigh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sentient Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Any 'Above & Beyond' fans in the house? I only just discovered them the other day. I was listening to some youtube trance mixes on the train ride home from work, and a track jumped out at me. It was an A&B track, so I do some searching, reading, more listening. Why havent I known about these guys before !?!??
ferchersan Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Tin Man - Ode - 2014 - 2LP Minimal and acid techno goodness. #ilovetechno Cheers, Leigh 2
Guest Y B Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Wow, I thought the best sounding vinyl reissued in 2014 was Underworld's dubnobasswithmyheadman 20th Anniversary Edition. Until I have just heard the Massive Attack's Mezzanine! It's like, superrrrr hirrrrrrez... I was thinking like, mmm... there must be like mmm... more to squeeze out of these two discs, and that means, like, my system is not up to the task....! But mmmm.... skyscraper, musically is still no. 1. I love you.... Edited July 8, 2015 by Y B
Sentient Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Not in my house Each to there own. There is room for an extraordinary amount of electronic sub-genres, to satisfy just about anyone who remotely likes electronic music. I like the emotional roller coaster that various trance music offers. Above & Beyond really nail what I like in their remixes, and I do enjoy that EDC concert alot. I'll be cranking that a few more times. 3
ferchersan Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Aphex Twin - MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96 - 12" - 2015 I'm a fan. I like it. People on discogs are complaining it's a noisy pressing. Mine is good. Thankfully. I've had my fair share of duds recently. Cheers, Leigh Edit: That's a big pic for a 35kb file? Edited July 8, 2015 by ferchersan 2

Look up Shiva Chandra, used to be one of my favorites, I think you might like him, he brought the sunrise up at Rainbow Serpent 2002 aah the memories 1
ferchersan Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Aphex Twin - Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Part 2 - EP - 2015 I just spun this at both 45RPM and 33RPM. 33RPM is doing it for me today. Slow and low. B) Cheers, Leigh 3
wim Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 @ferchersan That's a big pic for a 35kb file? Compression doesn't need to deal with areas of the same colour. There's a lot of 'white' in the image and not much in the way of relative variance. ---- Radio Soulwax - 2 Many DJs 1

Although it's a bit like saying classical music has been done to death, IMO. On this youtube page, Above&Beyond-Throwback Thursday, there is track after track after track of easy listening Above & Beyond tracks. Different tempos, different flavours. Not something I can get tired of, provided I am in the mood for it. I've listened to some Shiva before. Got any youtube clips of your favourite pieces?
b.d Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Shiva Chandra! Listening to Slud off Auricular, mind-bending psychedelic goodness. 1

wim Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 @Y B - It's a classic mix. More people should experience it.
metal beat Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) The new Orb album - Moonbuilding 2073AD. - 2lp, pressed wonderfully by MPO France and has a free CD of the album. What's not to like. The album itself is a ripper and a really good recording. Bass is DEEP. Edited July 9, 2015 by metal beat 3

metal beat Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Agree on all counts. Surprised you didn't spring for the 3LP. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk Frankly the "special editions " shite me up the wall as they are such a rip off. 18 pounds for a double album, 40 pounds for 3 lp's. I pass almost every time these days. Is the additional 1 track on 3 versions worth the 122% increase in price?
New Sensations Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 40 quid? Wtf. Landed my copy for way less than that. 3 bonus cuts. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk 1
metal beat Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 that is before the VAT is taken off, but still expensive compared to the normal album. I suppose you will tell me the 3 tracks are the best on the album
New Sensations Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Nope. They're easily the weakest. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk 1
