Rockymc Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) Hi, Does anyone know if there is a difference between the Gold '50' or Gold 'GX50'? They're advertised as the Gold 50 but I've read a few reviews, dated between 2017 to 2012 where they're called GX50. Not sure if it's the same speaker. Edit: solved: just found them both on the MA website Edited March 1, 2019 by Rockymc
Rockymc Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 Ok I found both speakers on MA's site but all the specs are identical. Does anyone know if there is a difference, except in the name?
bmc Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Gold 50 was the replacement for the GX50. Surface of the Gold 50 woofer has dimples kind of like a golf ball. GX50 woofer has radiating ridges. Gold 50 has a fabric grill while GX50 has a perforated metal grill. Otherwise they look the same. I don't know if they sound much different. 1
Rockymc Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 Thanks, so not much difference then. There's supposed to be a 'trickle down' of technology from the Platinum model but MA seem a bit shy about describing what that is.
