Well well, that didn't last long, could not buy them. Hated them tbh, such a let down.

But it's been an ongoing issue with me buying headphones of late, I love the sound of my main system so much that I havnt found a headphone that comes any where near that kind of sound.

Ahh well.

Yes, but these will not go anywhere near the kind of sound I like. They just had no weight in them.

@DMax they sound nothing like the LCD range at all. My initial reaction to them was very flat and thin sounding. My fav album to me just sounding horrid on them.

Wow.. Really? That's disappointing...

How much sound do they leak?

Aren't in ears more about convenience? I'd never want to listen to my Airpods instead of my main system, or even my HT system, but they are pretty good for what they are, and better than silence.

I've found in the past that headphones require more break in than speakers, as in the change in sound is more dramatic.

ok, my very very first thought with them with an album I know very well was simply "Ewwwwww"

so, yeah, I'm not spending $900 on the possibility of them being better after break in.

Yeah maybe but i do a lot of listening on the go during my commute to work as well as in the office (to drown out those clowns who like to use their desks as meeting rooms) and I gotta say im often amazed by the sound quality coming from my Shure SE846 in ears running direct from my iPhone 5S.

@Tubularbells those shures may be my other option.

Definately give them a try however as there isolating phones they might not suit your needs. Ive owned all Sure flagship in ears starting with SE500, SE535 and now SE846 and the 846 are really a league above all others I have tried but bear in mind any in ear phones will require a good seal otherwise will sound shite so experiment with all tips until you find one you're happy with.

Was the fit in your ears optimal?

I've had in-ears that change dramatically by using different sized ear cups, or by changing the orientation/angle of the earphone in my ears.

FWIW the iSine10's are on sale at minidisc.com.au and addictedtoaudio.com.au (and probably any other authorized dealer). At quite a bargain price...

Also if you audition them also be aware that the Cipher cable apparently has a fair whack of EQ on it, which you will (may) need to duplicate to get the best out of them if you listen using the straight-through 3.5mm cable. Audeze has a post here with some recommendations: https://www.head-fi.org/f/threads/audeze-isine-10-isine-20-audeze-releases-two-new-iem-planar-magnetic-earphones.818870/page-167#post-13518210

Quite enjoyed the iSine 10. Sound wise, it was a killer, especially with the the Cipher cable.

But the "use case" for the is quite limited. You can't really use them outdoors or during commutes, isolation is pretty limited.

Thought id try some HP, no real experience, knowledge, skillset, or ability to write a coherent sentence! Read on and find out!

Bought some non fazer LCD-2's from here and ive plugged them into my desktop integrated HP out. Which I expected not to be great, but turns out I underestimated how not great.

Its a  modest desktop setup of an old peachtree inova which has less than 1 ohm output impedance on the HP amp section, and 150mW at 150ohms (of which I believe my HP are 70 ohm rated). So they dont play too loud and im near 12 oclock when I really want to listen to my HP. It still powers my LS50's fine enough on the main amp side of things and sounds alright in my smallish study. DAC is pretty decent in it.

Ive found the HP to sound a bit muddy, flat and dont have a great deal of bass. Not sure if I am reading too much into the reviews stating they have great bass and imaging (and dark! dark apparently was the buzz word for every reviewer). So far they are kinda meh... albeit non fatiguing but every now and then I hear something from them which makes me think there is a bit of promise in them.

Questions are;

a) should I invest in entry level dedicated HP amp (Magni 3, DX3 pro, iFi Zen) or will I still be unhappy and go for a larger outlay?

b) Should I go down the path of equalizer to try add some life to the lcd2's?

c) both a and b?

d) stop being a manchild and get back to work? Sorry too real.

e) dark was a polite description of an average sounding HP?

Appreciate any advice or taking the time to respond.

Cheers

Hatzi
