damohpi Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 I don't have the original packaging, but I can request they are packed in a similar manner (foam and double cardboard)
jimmmy Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Interesting these have been on sale for almost a year now...................wonder why they are still around? cheers James
Nolz Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Distance and shipping costs were what held me back originally. With the reduced price and even with shipping factored in, I would have given them a punt without an audition Had I of not just picked up some Aslan goodness.
damohpi Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 in my opinion they have been on the market for this long due to - my lack of commitment to selling them - my location, both for shipping reasons and osborn being relatively unknown in this area - and prior to listing them on ebay I had not advertised them anywhere other than in this thread i'm not sure what to read into your comment, if you had a concern about the speakers or myself then perhaps it would of been courteous to contact me first via pm/email/phone.....
Nolz Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I'm assuming you are referring to Jimmy's post? As I meant no malice at all, in fact quite the opposite. When I read Jimmy's post it was more a long the lines of....him assuming that a product such as these would be snapped up and sold already and was suprised that no one had done so. I didn't interpret it as anything negative. I could be wrong but I hope not.
damohpi Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 Nolz, I was referring to Jimmmy's post, sorry for any misunderstanding...

I meant no offence or intent to do damage to your sale. However, i am offended that you would say such a thing. Maybe it would have been courteous of YOU to ask me if I had an issue before throwing such comments around. Incredible. In answer to what I can only guess is some sort of question. My comment refers to the fact that what are well reviewed speakers are still available at such a 'good' price. Excuse while I go work out on the punching bag for awhile. cheers James
Drizt Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Good to see there is a bid on the speakers mate. Im sure you will get a few more, good luck.
JA Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Hello All, A delicate and general point on forsale ads: I think it is important to recognise that a forsale post is effectively someone's personal advertisement. Of course it is appropriate to ask relevant questions either as a post in the thread or by PM. In a forsale thread I don't think it is appropriate to denegrate the product for sale or even suggest better alternatives. Perhaps in an obviously fraudulent situation it may be appropriate to question the seller's motives, but otherwise, I think it is simply good manners to give the seller some airtime, so that genuine sellers and genuine purchasers can transact. I have often thought that perhaps it is appropriate that we should spell this out in our forum guidelines. Best JA
damohpi Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 Thanks JA. I'm not going to argue over the content or intention of the above posts, but at the end of the day myself (and several others) read more into the post than may have been intended. Anyway, with a little over 1 day left on the auction someone is going to get a real bargain...

EDIT: Just checked Osborn's site the speakers are 1100 X 300 X 420 mm so I'm guessing the tweeters will be around 950mm.
damohpi Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 I'll measure when I get home this evening, to hazard a guess with spikes installed somewhere around 980-1000mm

I’m wondering how much to get some new boxes made, so the colour matches the rest of my system. Then I’m thinking its all too difficult…very tempted though. Good luck with the sale, I may even have a crack at them myself.
jimmmy Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 bump, we are currently building a new house so these are sitting in storage not being used. I would let them go for $2000, the only catch is it would be hard to demo them in our current situation but can pull them out of storage and demo for serious buyers. PM or email dbarnierATgmail.com for my mobile no.[/b] I reckon you'll easily get more than 2k for them. Ebay is a wonderful in the last few minutes. cheers James
*Psycho!* Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 yeh good luck with the sale, cant believe they haven't gone yet. God I wish I was setting up a spare audio only room in our house, I would jump at these at $2k. grrrrr frustrating...
