How you finding the LSA’s ? They still need run in I think. But they don’t sound like other planar’s do they.

I think they may be on their way to a different home soon Ray.

Build is good. Comfort is good. Some cup swivel would be nice, but there seems enough flex in the headband to sit right. Just not the signature I was after. Think I'm more of a basshead then I like to admit.

Anyone keen let me know.

We are all bass heads without realising it. I was hit in the chest by a pair Legacy Focus Se driven by Kenwood yesterday. I was moved.

Yes I must admit I was starting to think that, I read the first few posts on this thread and you were talking about comparing Sony z1r to focal clear. You basically said the clear didn’t have enough bass but the Sony did. Focal clear to me has pretty decent bass.

Gee that was a long time ago :P

At a certain level you start to feel the bass. Has real wow and impact. D8000 was the best there, but gee you pay for it.

I don't consider myself a bass head, but maybe I have never truly heard an amazing setup that let me really feel the bass to appreciate it.

Then I'd ask you to go to Minidisc and ask to audition LCD-4 powered by Auris Nirvana. Never has bass been so satisfying without smearing into the mids and the top end still sparkle. Mid and sub bass will move you but it's not all about bass in that setup. It's the whole package.

Once you hear it though, you cannot unhear it which is also the experience I get with Wa33 driving Susvara and the other week TT2 + MScalar + Auris Nirvana + Susvara.

But you know what ... Bifrost 2 + La Figaro 339i (RCA 5693 + TS 7236) + He1000se now is almost there at a lot cheaper. ?

A very strange thing happen today. Was testing out the Boston Acoustics speakers I just bought yesterday with my Sony STR 7035 vintage receiver and it was a perfect match ! Then I plug my He1000se into the Sony headphone jack and it was just the most amazing tone. I paid $180 for the Sony a few years ago on SNA.

I could be tempted to try D8000 and Empyrean but I really want to try Abyss ab 1266 phi TC.

D8K is on my "if you only have one headphone" list. Empyrean sucked me in initially with that smooth and deep bass, nice mids. Super nice build and comfort. Then you realise that the bass to mids are smeared and not defined and for me, that just kills this HP. I heard it the other day again on HPA4. You'd think that would be about as clinical as you could get, apart from TT2, but it didn't help.

I'd love to try Abyss and Susvara on the right setup too!

Hahaha Neil, you go !

After spending so much (not as much as you Neil) on my head-fi, I was listening to this cheap-fi and believe it sounded like HiFi and would kick any of my headphone setup. However head-fi and hi-fi are not apples to apples comparison and any comparisons are futile.

So Boston Acoustics VR-2 ($299) , Pioneer SACD player ($350) , Sony STR 7035 ($180) all bought from SNA , this is actually tons of fun and good tone. Just ask @xtiva2000 he heard it last night at my place.

Will you be bringing the Mogwai Se ? Love to hear that. If there is a Benchmark HPA4, that too. Any Abyss ab 1266 phi TC ? ?

An LCD-4 with Mogwai Se is what I want to hear. Susvara would be great too.

I can only bring what's on this page here https://indiehifi.com.au/collections/demo-items

Bigger Ben is still 2 weeks off so next time for that.

For the Mogwai SE, LCD-4 and HPA we'll have to chip in for flights for @BlueOceanBoy. His system is getting pretty dialled in now.

Neil can buy his own flights with all that Verite money he got

Have fun guys. Be good !

Yep definitely the full line up of ZMF. Only except Atticus as it’s with another customer for trial atm.
