Those Meze Classics are super comfortable. ?

Yeah I really like the expanding head band.  Nice and light too...

Happy to report cable has stuff all microphonics.

If I used no splitter, or a plastic splitter, would basically disappear completely. But maybe its good having it, gently weights the twisted pairs down straight neatly.

Toying with idea of a modular system using the Hirose HR10 connectors at the splitter and near amp end, but a pair of those is 18grams, twice the weight of this single viablue. Hmmm.

I wish my desktop looked like that. My girl would stop annoying me about filing all the paperwork on it. What DAC are you using mate?

Thanks! I clean my desk off every night, sort of a habbit thing. I'm using a built in AK DAC inside the Asgard 3. I'm going to slowly move over to a Bottlehead Crack w/ Speedball and a Modi Multibit this year.

Nice, those ZMF's will pair well with the Bottlehead. You don't want to make the stretch to the Bifrost Multibit? It would stack nicely with the Asgard 3 and would be a good SS amp to back up the Bottlehead. It may give you better value in the long term as well. Or a Qutest if your not needing the balanced connections and can make the stretch.

For sure, I'd love the Bifrost 2. Still feeling the kick in the gut from the Aeolus price though, haha!

Took a risk and replaced my LCD-3 with the closed LCD-XC, at first just sounded a bit bright and completely unlike any Audeze I had heard,

But after a couple of days burn-in starting to sound just like a very nicely detailed headphone and bass is also improving.

The main elephant in the room is the weight, but tbh it doesn’t bother me. Perhaps the main issue is they slide if you tilt your head because of the weight.

Cant wait to try them with my Auris HA-2SF, should work well I think.

I thought the headband of the Audeze's handled the weight very well. That sliding would bug me, could you increase the clamp somehow?

That's what I did when I had. Increase clamp. Where the rod is held by that small tab, bend that tab in.

Keeping it nice and simple ...

Though my preferred set up is:

1. MBP with QOBUZ/TIDAL (I prefer the former) and ROON

2. Hugo2/2Go

3. MEZE Empyrean with the silver plated cable upgrade.

For a transportable setup that I can plonk down in bed ; on the recliner or anywhere in the house, I don't think I can do much better. The Empyrean is simply so enjoyable to listen to.

Another Empy user. Very good! I love mine, jsut easy. Easy to fit, easy to wear, sound great.

How you like the Andro's? I have a Mest MK2 and U12T with me at the moment, like both. Can only keep one though, RIP.

Absolutely love the Andromeda's.

It should come with a balanced cable as most would use the balanced port on a DAP. And it doesn't. (I had to buy the ALO audio silver plated super litz 2.5mm).

Andromeda 2020's are phenomenal in the SP2000. Excellent clarity, detail and driven to near perfection (as the SP2000 damn well should). Neutral, subtly bright tonality. Treble extension is fine. Soundstage is surprisingly wide for an IEM. Detail, separation and clarity are on par with full sized headphones exceeding its price point.  Though not quite up to the standard of Susvara driven out of a Moon 430HAD (which has set the reference standard for me). But it's 75% there. I find the ROON -> SP2000 -> Andromeda 2020 pairing to be better than the Hugo2 pairing. There's a lovely synergy there.

The Hugo2/2Go -> Empyrean is a better than the Andromeda's. Different sound signature. But the musicality and strengths of the Empy's really shine.

Faults? Sensitive to tip selection. And source selection. Balanced armatures have a subtle plastic tonality to them, especially on piano tracks. Bass isn't a strong point. The attack and dynamics isn't up to par with the dynamic drivers. I auditioned pretty much the entire range of CFA IEM's and outside of the custom options, between the Solstice, Ara and Andromeda2020, the latter are just amazing.

Testing out the new transportable set-up for the first time.

ROON -> Astell and Kern SP2000 (DAC)

Effect Audio balanced adapter -> Ifi 4.4mm balanced cable interconnect -> Woo Audio WA11

Sennheiser HD800S

I must say, this is perhaps the nicest I've heard the Sennheisers in a transportable set-up. The WA11 lends itself to a lovely warm neutral tonality. Plenty of power for the HD800s which seem to be driven well. Detail, clarity all there. And a wonderfully, refined vocal presentation. The sound is just so damn 'clean' and controlled. I'm enjoying this as much as the Susvara I was auditioning earlier. Bass isn't quite there but that was never a HD800S strong point.

Much better than out of the SP2000 directly or via the ESS DC of the WA11.

I am reminded that for the cost of the SP2000 and WA11 I should have just bought a decent desktop solution.

Listening to "Let it Go" ; Sarah Alainn.

I can't! I'm not actually keeping either. I can't decide which to get in Custom form!

The Asgard 3 Is a nice  unit.  I quite like the Schiit house sound./filter. I have the multibit card inside mine. I was going to sell it at one stage, but decided to keep it as a very reliable back up. You don't want to be left without tunes if something in your system fails. ?

I just love using TT in my headphone setup, along with DAC and CD player. Yours is a very neat and nice setup. Enjoy.
