Has anyone tried the PE mode with the Rega Ania MC on an RP6 or planar 6?

I ask because changing the settings is well beyond my ability and before I get my shop to do it, it would be good to hear if it’s worth a try or just out and out “don’t bother”.

Adjust it yourself, it was meant for user adjustment

It is beyond me to do... I opened it up and got the instructions out and couldn’t even work out which jumpers were which.

It’s so NOT user friendly. Just give Jonathan Davies a call. Really great guy and very helpful.

Don't think so, W - JD's been associated with DV for about 25 years.  :)

I used the phono enhancer mode when I had a P75 mk 3, but that was with a DV-XX2 mk2. The sound was more dynamic.

The guys that did the review below (maybe you've read it?) used an RP8 with an Apheta 2 cart and an XX2 and were impressed with the PE mode on both carts.

As pointed out in the review..."This depends on the resistance of the cables between cartridge and stage as well as the coils themselves, so results will vary from one set up to another"

So YMMV... But I'd say the PE modes are definitely worth trying.

Thanks mate... yup, I did see that review :)

I think I’ll get my shop to make the switch and see how it goes.

Down load the manual from the web site pictures are bigger.  Yes it looks awkward thats why you have given up but it really is not it is just time consuming. Take your time do a jumper when your happy do another make notes if needed 4 jumpers and all done!  You cant be going to shop trying different loadings or back to STD not practical and they may make mistakes!  A magnifer can be helpful.  Richard
