HiFiPassion Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 (edited) Item: DIATONE DS-3000 Hi End SPEAKERS Location: North Ryde or Terrigal Price: !$3800! REDUCED TO: $3500 Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: Upgraded to B&W 802 Diamonds. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: These speakers are fully serviced, all drivers are original and work perfect, surrounds are serviced and soft as they should be, cabinets are checked and are re sealed to last another 30 + years, crossover networks are huge and heavy, in pictures they look small, pictures not doing true justice, all crossover network tested carefully and in perfect condition, sealed speakers means better bass to some ears, I personally like sealed boxes better then ported, in my opinion I do not hear the unwanted airy bass that comes out of the port, however, this is just my own opinion to my ears, every ones taste and ears are different. if I had the room in my new house I would keep them for sure because these cost me well over $5000 and have different detailed sound to any speakers I have heard, many in my life, but unfortunately cannot keep to many speakers therefore I would like to see them go to a good home. You will Not find a better pair, most of these speakers at this age the surrounds are hardened and will be needing replacing if they are Not regularly serviced and the seals inside the box between the subwoofer and mid woofer they all leak at this age, they do need major servicing carefully need re sealing them, this prevents the air pressure from the big woofer interfering with the separately sealed mid woofer chamber and these speakers are fully serviced and re sealed perfectly, all done for you, you just need a good amplifier, if you do not have the right amplifier for these speakers then check out my Technics Pre & Power amps, a perfect match for these speakers which I also decided to sell because they are too big for my new house. I can deliver these speakers around Central Coast or to Sydney if you are Not too far from Terrigal in Central Coast or North Ryde in Sydney. Audition is welcome in TERRIGAL only. N@qOyQ@tSi Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Beautiful DS-3000s I have their big brothers the DS-5000s both series were cost no object speakers. Hifipassion what fluid did you use to soften the surrounds? i think the DS3000s are easily in the class of the NS-2000s. GLWTS.
HiFiPassion Posted June 8, 2019 Author Posted June 8, 2019 Dear N@qOyQ@tSi Long time ago I bought a special speaker surround treatment liquid kit online from Japan, HiFido, it does not soften the surrounds straight away but I used them often like every few months I applied inside and out of the surrounds and the surrounds now are soft and operating great. DS-5000? Wow they are very beautiful speakers indeed, love the sound of Diatone speakers, they are kinda sweet at the top end. To my ears DS-3000s were sweeter then the Yamaha NS-2000s.. Again, this is to my ears, everyone ear and taste is different. some may not like the sound too sweet, then the Yamaha's are better. I only say this because I did actually hear and compared them both before I purchased the DS-3000 PS, I also own NS 1000M in beautiful piano black finish and I love them.
F18 Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Very nice, to my ears these are better than the ns2000. I’ve owned these, 2000hr, v5000 and the v9000 setup for me in Japan before offloading it and the NS2000 compares favourably with the 2000hr.
