Hi

I currently have a receiver that is only HDMI 1.3. I am almost certain I am going to buy one of the latest receivers.

I have a 2017 model 4K HDR tv.

Any recommendations on brand / type of HDMI cable? Last ones I bought looked good but glue came off on the connectors.

Want something decent without going stupid.

Cheers

for short lengths - upto 2m - literally anything goes

2m - 9m id suggest the mono price premium certified from amazon local site (can get these also in lengths under 2m if want to be full proof)

10m is tricky theres one in the affordable i know works in the office works comsol 10m 4k cable of theirs. i would buy and try and return if no good.

beyond 10m ie 10m + ruipro fibre is only options....

As long as your BD/UHD player has 2 HDMI outputs it is not absolutely necessary to change your AVR.

Simply plug one HDMI into your TV for video and the other one ( probably marked "HDMI Audio only") into your AVR.

Of course it it doesn't.......and/or you are wanting to get into ATMOS......then it IS upgrade time!!!

definitely the dual out is a solution...just one thing to be wary off. as since in essence audio and video being processed separately it opens up for possibility of lip sync issues. things like lip synch delays dont work to fix either as different signals in audio and video tend to need different amount of processing with resulting differing delays.

this as distinct to say one hdmi with audio and video going through AVR and hence both kept in synch. anyways just something to watch out for since

Tried to buy from Amazon AU but ships from O/S with like a 3 week wait. Any other place to get them from locally?

Mine shipped pretty quick I’m on amazon prime though and they had and expedited option not costing much if anything more.

whet length? Not sure anyone selling mono price. Locally

length only issue with hdmi, unless know that ie specific length, cannot at all help on options.
