Iron & Wines best by a long way imho. I haven't heard the vinyl though, I've got the CD which is excellent. I imagine the vinyl is also excellent.

JukKluk2 Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 After watching the recent edition of The Daily Doug where he interviewed Rachel Flowers, and played a song from this album, I have become enamored with her latest album, Bigger On the Inside. She is amazing, so much talent it's scary. 1

Janjuggler Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Hi All, Been away for about 20 weeks, back on Wednesday and had some domestic jobs to catch up on and first spin of a group of albums ordered before going touring, and collected by a good neighbour, first spin since mid June, Coheed and Cambria ~VAXIS II (A Window Of The Waking Mind), so it has to be my album of the week / month / quarter 2

Guest deanB Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 This weeks entry was played at the beginning of the week and hasn't been topped. Opens and closes with 2 versions of 'You Better Run' from Iggy & The Stooges and The Heartless Bastards do a bewitching performance of 'Done Got Old'. Still getting goosebumps just by mentioning it. Dud free and groovy. Sunday Nights: The Songs Of Junior Kimbrough (2006) Enjoy your weekend people.
ZEN MISTER Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 One of N.Z. finest, currently on tour in the U.S. If you are not familiar, a cross between REM circa ‘Fables of the Reconstruction ‘ and vintage SQUEEZE. Released in 1990, sounds better than ever. Billy 3 2

onthebeach Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Bill Withers Live at Carnegie Hall. Brilliant double album from 1972 concert. Absolutely cracking versions of Lean on Me & I Hope She'll be Happier. Holds a note on that latter song that blows me away every time I hear it. What a voice!! Very funky band too. 6 1
zenikoy Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Repeatedly listening to The Beth's "Expert in a Dying Field". Great straight ahead up tempo indie rock. Makes me think of Taylor Swift fronting a power pop band, sporting a kiwi accent. Highly Recommended. The "expert" in the video turns out to be tech working on an old amplifier https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/the-beths-expert-in-a-dying-field/ 1
