Mightygrey Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Further information: The time has sadly come for me to part ways with my pride and joy: my 2007 Peugeot 207 GTi. After a decade of joy spent with this most incredible of driver’s cars, I’ve just received some exciting news which means our little family will be in need of some rear doors, and my partner needs to drive an automatic car. I’d love to hang onto it, but I guess priorities are changing and I’d love to pass this little pocket rocket onto someone who’ll appreciate this pretty rare beauty for what it is. I searched high and low to find a great example of the 207 GTi when I first took ownership of my one back in 2010. It really is an incredible mix of luxury, handling, and power. Costing close to $40K upon launch, it still very much feels like the top of the range premium European car that it is. The alcantara sports seats are the best I’ve experienced of any car, at any price - they’re truly remarkable. The in-gear acceleration from the 130kW turbo-charged 1.6L needs to be experienced to be believed. There is a mountain of torque, and it’ll happily pull even in 5th gear from low RPMs. There’s an addictive snarl from the twin exhausts to remind you that life’s too short to drive a Corolla, and it’s simply a joy to throw around corners. It’s only done 87,000 kms, and it’s never had anything to drink besides 98-octane. It’s in perfect mechanical condition - I’ve kept it serviced like clockwork, and I had the fuel-pump replaced with a brand new unit a few years ago. It has all the mod-cons pf a premium car that were extremely generous for its time: automatic directional headlamps, automatic wipers, dual-zone climate control, remote locking, automatically-retracting side mirrors, six-stacker CD player (it also has an AUX-in port), and will be sold with a Parrot hands-free Bluetooth kit installed. The first person to slide into the driver’s seat will want to drive it home - give me a call and I’m happy to arrange a test-drive. Photos: 8

lenticularis Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Still remember a 205 GTI test-drive, and owning my mint-green 405 GTI, including a final fling up to the Scottish Highlands before migration in '89. GLWS and congrats on your changed circumstances! 1
