Joe13 Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Hi to all, A very happy owner of a pair Nina standmounts since March 2023 / Original boxes but spec'd to current References. System:- Kinki Studio Ex-M1 Intergrated, Gustard R26, Lumin U1 Mini + Botw Sbooster LPS, Gustard U18 DDC, LHY Audio SW-6 Network switch, REL T/7x. Cables are a mixture of QED speaker cables, Wireworld Starlight Cat 8, Nordost Blue Heaven I2s, Furutech GT2Pro USB, Aurealis XLR's, BAF Powercables and others and the list goes on. Streaming is the only source of music for me. I'm based in Mount Barker WA If anybody uses Tidal I have attached a eclectic playlist which you might find some keepers in https://tidal.com/browse/playlist/473e8859-2723-4992-a397-3d3ab92ce1ba Seasons greetings and best wishes for the New Year. Paul Porky Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Hi Glen Nice to know that another pair of Nina's have made their way across the Nullabor. They are quality speakers that respond with each upgrade. I have just pulled the trigger on an Auralic Altair G 1.1 for streaming duties replacing my Bluesound Node. The Nina’s are truly reference to my ears. Well done to Nick. Thanks for the Tidal list too. Cheers Paul 2
Joe13 Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Hi Paul, Good choice with the Altair G 1.1, the upgrade would've been a noticeable one. Are you running any subwoofers in your set up ? The bass is pretty good as is with the Nina's but once heard with the sub dialled in there's no going back. Nick has been awesome to deal with and doesn't disappear after the sale, has helped a lot in me finding a happy place for the set-up. Thanks for the Welcome Glen 2
Paul Porky Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Hi Glen I do run a pair of Rel T5s which help round out the depth. Having said that I was testing the Altair and thought it all sounded great. After a few hours I realised the subs were off and it still had good bass heft. Just feel it is a fuller sound overall with the subs but love the detail of standmounts. The Nina’s replaced my imposing Usher Dancers and the stand alone bass of the Nina’s is very punchy. Enjoying the journey Cheers Paul 5
Grizzly Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 I can attest to the low end performance of the Ninas. Nick brought a pair up to see how they play with a 20w EL84 integrated- even without the impedance correction circuit we were both quite amazed at the full fat sound of the pairing! He's an absolute gentleman to boot and super passionate about what he does. 3 1
Hulgich Audio Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 You don't know how much joy it brings me to hear the different stories about how happy you all are with your speakers and to share your experiences among yourselves. As I did with Clive in Melbourne, I would love to listen to each of your systems at some point. Talking about the Ninas, at this year's Stereonet show, we showcased the Duke model more than the Nina model, which I believe was a mistake. In the few moments we did feature the Ninas, they shone, and the listeners wouldn't leave the room. The show's rooms present many challenges for controlling low frequencies specially with big speakers like the Dukes, which is why smaller speakers are much better suited to such conditions. 8 2

It's thoroughly deserved Nick. The Astors were one of the most musical and enjoyable speakers I have ever had through my room to this day. Had I not been on a journey to fit the biggest speakers I could possibly fit in my room, they'd still be in there! But there are days now that I still miss them Enjoy the success and support, of which you deserve far more than you already get. 1 1

And the truth is, my visit to Clive after the show was a great surprise for me. I had completely forgotten how good they sounded, and I'm very glad that Clive is the one who has them because, like you, he has put together a magnificent system that makes the Astors shine with a clear, enjoyable sound, reproducing a great soundstage. 3 1

I heard the Astors at Marc's for the first time, it left a lasting impression and when l had the opportunity to buy a pair - it was a privilege and rare opportunity for me! Big fan of the Duke speakers, but don't feel I'm really missing out with mine. Imaging and dynamics are incredible, and rarely achieved by many other brands except at much higher price points than the Hulgichs. If anyone would like to hear my Astors in my setup, always happy to demo . 4
Paul Porky Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Great to see the interview with Nick in the latest Australian Hi Fi magazine. Well done Nick and I hope this gives you more traction after the Stereonet Hifi show. ( I get my copies of hifi mags through my local library digitally as a member if this is useful for anyone) Always nice to see the lovely Nina’s get exposure. Cheers Paul 2

Cheers Paul Hi Paul, Thank you for your comment my friend. I thought about sharing the interview with you all, but it doesn't seem fair to share it through this forum. We will soon have a review of the Nina through Soundstage Australia so stay tune! 4

I managed to sneak a look at the interview too, Nick! It was a great insight, and credit to your passion and hard work over the past several years especially. Word needs spread far and wide, on the virtues of your speakers! 2

deannepal Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Well done Nick, I have admired your progression as a speaker maker for more than a decade now and the current level of your speakers is to be highly commended. After spending 3 days at the Melbourne HiFi show with you and continually visiting other rooms, I always got a sense of your speakers sounding effortlessly musical and open and balanced whenever I entered your room. The Nina's especially were on song being in a fairly small room. Get well soon so you can keep building great speakers. 1

Hulgich Audio Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 Today I've received this present from a very happy customer, His Post-it note has lifted our spirits. Thank you very much, Glen. 3 4 1
Joe13 Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 My pleasure Nick, it's a great Australian sparkling wine which i've had a "bit of exposure to" from my time spent with Accolade wines. I'm sure your lovely wife will pick the perfect time to pop the cork. A thank you to Paul ( 1st WA Nina owner) for the tip on using your local library to access wine magazines, as I was able to read Nick's interview with Australian Hi-Fi. I will endeavour to get to this years Stereonet Hi-Fi show to pop a cork / screw cap or two in person with yourself and some other Hulgich Audio owners. https://www.drinkstrade.com.au/house-of-arras-wins-best-australian-sparkling-at-the-world-championships-in-london 3

A very happy first time WA owner. Whilst dealing with a few health issues here at home the Nina’s have been a shining light in my days. Take care and keep loving the music. Cheers Paul 1 2
Karri Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 I've not yet had the pleasure to hear Hulgich speakers, but on looks and finish quality alone they stand above higher priced international brands. Any time a WA owner wants to demo theirs to SNA members, count me in! 1
Joe13 Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 (edited) Hi Buffle, I have a pair of the Nina's and they have been one of the great audio buys so far, i'm a happy camper. I don't know where your based in WA, i'm way down south (Albany region) If your in Melbourne anytime, Dacman (Stav) is Nick's agent in Vic. and you can audition the Nina's at his place by appointment. Cheers Glen Edited March 1, 2024 by Joe13 1
Antipodean Brad Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Have I read your website correctly - one large floorstand model and one standmount model, with nothing in between? I'm sure that I recall others. Could you PM me the respective prices, please. Thanks.
