Maybe if I used the faster/courier service it would have attracted gst.

It is straight from RME's website though, so I imagine warranty shouldn't be an issue. Having to ship it all the way to them and wait would be annoying if anything were to happen. I am decidedly not a believer that DACs sound different (beyond a certain price point). But you are right in that it's poor form to go to a shop, and take advantage of their time, then buy via grey market etc. I would not do that. They have adi 2 pro black edition in stock! But thats like 2600aud or something and i didnt need the extra features.
