Andreus187 Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 (edited) So been going though any and all sources trying to find the best song to trully test my sub/bass out. Honestly nothing can quite hold a candle to Kanye West- Love Lockdown. Was wondering if anyone (after giving it a go) has anything they beleive can match or top it? Eager to hear your replies. I’ll do my best to get to all of them and swing you a reply. Hard gig when kids are asleep but will get to all eventually and compare/rate. here’s a link for those that have the time. I promise you will not be disappointed. https://open.spotify.com/track/1kxeWHF9PrCVZHvVskv8lg?si=CXHsOvOrQQi9fR6KXnn7vw Edited June 25, 2020 by Andreus187

Andreus187 Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 So I can definitely see why you picked this song, but unfortunately not even in the same category. If Love Lockdown is a 10, I’d give Harry a 7.
awayward Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 (edited) Billie Eilish - Bad Guy Lenny Kravitz - Here to Love, an acoustic style song, but has the occasional low sub bass which will test your sub. Edited June 25, 2020 by awayward
colinm1 Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 I am yet to listen to the song in question , joe slam,I’ve heard through the big genesis speakers ,and the smaller 5,s and some pipe dreams, With 2 by 15 subs with the biggest crown amp both got a workout, my small 12 inch pair made me feeling ill ,if I had it turned up too much,
RankStranger Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 I don’t know the Kanye song but I like Nitin Sawhney’s Nadia from Beyond Skin for extension and control https://open.spotify.com/track/6c05B0BTOJbDyRy5KLI7my?si=OX0hEsLNRf-1d69KQye2tw
Guest rmpfyf Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Won't be to everyone's taste, however track #10 on this will give your bass system a workout: https://www.amazon.com.au/Bass-Bowl-DJ-Magic-Mike/dp/B000001SCU Brings back good memories from a car audio scene decades ago.

RoHo Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 whenever I adjust my subwoofer the song I keep coming back to test it out is the Flaming Lips' "Suddenly Everything Has Changed" from the Soft Bulletin album. The album contains lots of deep electronic thumps and groans if that floats your boat, but that song contains several vigorously played runs up and down the fretboard of the bass guitar. This test if I have an even frequency response throughout the bass range. The strings are quite heavily plucked giving a strong "leading edge" sound. I know that if that sound is precisely reproduced then the timing/delay of the subs signal is optimum. If the notes are blurred and muddy then something is wrong with the delay.

Ittaku Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 (edited) This is from the Diablo soundtrack by Matt Uelmen and I believe not copyrighted. http://ittaku-subs.net/maggot.mp3 Right click and save as, otherwise it will just play in your browser. Unfortunately their 15 year anniversary CD the mix was completely different and the bass greatly diminished so that all that remains of the original mix is this mp3 from the game itself. Pim Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 If you want to see (with your eyes) whether your sub is working, by all means go for some of the songs above, but if you want to integrate your sub so it works best in your room with your speakers, try some female vocals and try to get them to sound natural and well rounded. Once that's done, THEN put on some James Blake and have some fun.
