Leo Veto Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I have a pair of Response 165mm carbon fibre bass/mid drivers with huge magnets and labeled as 80 watts. The cat. # is CW2140 and the parameters are listed in their old catalogues probably between 2007-2010 after which that item was deleted. I need the QTS the VAS and the FS to build boxes for them. Can anyone please help me with the details? Thanks in advance.
tubularbells Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) I made subs using 4x 12" from this series in the early 90's to good effect. Still working 100% with the new owner to this day. Edited July 25, 2020 by Tubularbells 6 1
Leo Veto Posted July 25, 2020 Author Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) Thanks for such a quick response.Pun intended. Is that the Vifa D19 ? a delightful tweeter for sure. I noticed the VAS is not included in the specs so I have to trust the box sizes given. Edited July 25, 2020 by Leo Veto more info and a query.

I noticed the VAS is not included in the specs so I have to trust the box sizes given. VAS is extremely sensitive to other parameters like compliance and mechanical losses Q. It's unlikely that any quoted VAS is going to be super accurate.... and will potentially skew the box volume/tune quite bit. You'll just have to trust the box given .... or build a test.... or measure the woofers. 2
Leo Veto Posted July 26, 2020 Author Posted July 26, 2020 True.I have it in a 20lit enclosure and the middle bass is somewhat recessed, maybe overdamped.I believe I need 15lit in a B/R. to get me the sound I am wanting.
