vmhf Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) Well the title says it all! As some of you may know I recently took delivery of a pair of YG Acoustics Carmels several weeks ago. I have been smitten ever since. I have been asked by the importer of YG Acoustics to announce the demonstration of the Kipod II Signature at Secher Audio Visual in Melbourne on the 1st July 2011. Their phone number is (03) 98304585 to make further enquiries. The founder of YG Acoustics, Yoav Geva, will be in attendance. Edited June 12, 2011 by vmhf
Guest Bodhisattva Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 I don't suppose they'd let me come after they banned me from their store?
vmhf Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 You might have to wear a cloak, hat and sunglasses Bodhi:thumb:
Keith_W Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 I was there yesterday and spoke to George and Dmitry. They know that the admin from SNA lives down the road from them and they said nothing!! Sigh ... There was no YG Acoustics there. I did see a Wilson-Benesch Torus sub ... I might ask Dmitry if he would mind bringing it over
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted June 12, 2011 Volunteer Posted June 12, 2011 I was in there about a week ago. Spoke to an english guy there (whose name I forget).... very friendly and let me stay for ages listening to various stuff even though I made it very clear I was not buying anything. Anyway, he was raving about the Torus sub but it hadn't arrived yet so didn't get a chance to see it
Guest Bodhisattva Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) You might have to wear a cloak, hat and sunglasses Bodhi:thumb: I have been banned, end of story. But I wouldn't come even if they changed heart after the way Dmitri screwed me out of a lot of money. It disgusts me. But i've had the last laugh; I know of several audiophiles who have sworn they will never walk in that store after hearing my story. Dmitri has lost thousands of dollars by banning me...I simply took my business elsewhere! Bodhi Edited June 13, 2011 by Bodhisattva
vmhf Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 Sorry to hear of your negative experiences with the store Bodhi. Still for others interested it would be worth the trip if you want to hear what all the hype about YG speakers is about...
Guest Bodhisattva Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) Thanks Victor. Just wanted to make clear that I think the YG speakers are terrific. I also fully support the Importer. Enough said on that topic. Bodhi Edited June 13, 2011 by Bodhisattva
Juicester Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 George is tops* - shame he sold the place...... Might be worth a peek to check out something I will never be able to afford. *can't say the same about Dmitry!

vmhf Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 Close. Retail on the Kipod II Signature is $55K as confirmed by the dealer.
firefly0071 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 It's a fair price if you are looking at world class equipment (whether it is best in the world is much more subjective).
vmhf Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 (edited) The Kipod II Signature is under the Anat Reference II Studio which is itself beneath the flagship Anat III. So it would be unfair for it to be the best in the world. For $55K it is an absolute bargain for the third best speaker on earth:thumb: Just reading a current review on the Anat Reference II Studio here Edited June 19, 2011 by vmhf
firefly0071 Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 My dance partner, who needs to listen to music for dancing and understand musicality (changes in music and hence change dance steps) gets by by playing music direct from a computer as part of her training to be NSW champion. If I had the Kipod II Signature, my dance skills will be better!
vmhf Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Yes, my YG Carmels are like a metronome with absolute perfect timing! The Kipods would offer this and more. Would enhance anyone's dancing skills I suspect;)
Guest Bodhisattva Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 It's a fair price if you are looking at world class equipment (whether it is best in the world is much more subjective). Having heard the YG's, couldn't agree more with your latter point Firefly..
Keith_W Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Just walked out of Secher Audio 5 minutes ago. This event has been cancelled. Yoag Geva was unable to travel to Australia. The speakers MIGHT be there tomorrow night - Boris has them, but they are not in the shop yet. Have to organize transport, etc etc. Dmitry is a bit concerned that he may not be able to dial them in on time, but he did say that the speakers will be in the shop next week.

diesel459 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I heard these speakers on Saturday, i have never heard anything like it. You would swear someone was playing drums live in the shop.
vmhf Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 I feel this with my YG Carmels. The lack of any coloration and absolute accuracy of my speakers lends most instruments, especially drums, an eerie realism. I can imagine the Kipod would have a great deal more oompth and body to the sound than my speakers.
