Petit-fou-fou Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Further information: It's a radiogram, it works and was going to be the carcass for a higher-fi Vifa and class D PartyGram. The record changer works but will need to be reconnected if you want to use it. I was removing it, don't want any pis**d up bogans near my vinyl. I will happily deliver in Perth Metro for asking price. If you want it cheaper you pick it up. Petit-fou-fou Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 Hi colin, Btw, you're not quite right... but not quite wrong. A Stereogram is a picture within a picture, they can be a single image stereogram or dual image. They cannot reproduce lo-fi sound like the good old Radiogram. I dimly remember reading an article about Philips saying "Stereogram" was coined by Philips to save labeling costs, the same as removing the second L from Phillips back in the early 20th C.
Colin Rutter Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Your completely right. Radiogram lofi? Not after I have restored one. It wasn't meant to be too serious, I just love the old tube grams. They are beautiful cabinets but just a bit large for many homes. The pic is an AWA multiband radiogram. One if my babies. sota 1956. 1
Petit-fou-fou Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 That's gorgeous, I have a couple of oldies as well. My favourite is from HK, my dad bought it in 1966 from Peak, while we were stationed there. It is made up of good quality seperates in a beaut cabinet. The speakers are Goodmans Axioms. 1
