Sound Gallery Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Further information: This is a rare beast and no one makes AV receiver like that anymore other then proper seperate pre processor and power amp; which this unit literally is. The top part is the processor and the bottom part is the power amp section. It will drive anything at 200W at 8 ohms. This unit is in very good condition, comes with remote but no original box. it will be well packed if needed. lonewolf Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 I had no idea pioneer was in the higher end avr market? I thought it was always just a low to mid end brand. Someone recently told me on here that he found pioneer avrs having great audio quality and better than a lot of the other avr brands. I hadn’t had a clue till then

I hadn’t had a clue till then Pioneer / Yamaha was leading brand in HT, I think way back early 80 / 90 started from Laserdisc / DVD........ Edited August 18, 2020 by Zodiac-12

Their new range of LX series will be hitting the market September 2020 too https://www.pioneeraudio.com.au/collections/lx-series I remember being a part time uni student and having a part time job as a Pioneer Product Specialist on the LX series of components (yea...bonkers of a title but hey when you're a uni student it was "cool") Long story short, I went places one would never think of having Pioneer displays - most interesting ones were LX series product displays at Qantas Club, Virgin Club and the Business Lounges. We had a LX90 on display along with the LX series plasma back in the time (2008/2009), with some of the most dodgy Pioneer branded speakers in piano finish. I would walk through so many A/V fanatics on how things worked on the LX90 AVR, whilst the others just admired the Kuro Series LX plasmas on display - which were a true masterpiece at the time. 2

I still hold on my 60" plasmas.. I remember the susano price tag... what a beast!
44maloo Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 I own LX901 and it’s a great amp. Having owned Yamaha for years I now prefer the pioneer receivers. Only fault for me is they should add XLR inputs. 1
Piddi Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 I agree, would love to see XLR on the new pioneers same as the Aventage 3080... but after trying integrating HT and stereo into one system I went back to a dedicated stereo setup and keep movies separate.
44maloo Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Yep can’t do both together. You get better results but the bank account gets hammered.
Sound Gallery Posted August 20, 2020 Author Posted August 20, 2020 No perfect system, just have to balance a system for both family and yourself I guess!
