If someone has one that has failed, ie stopped functioning, it would great to cut one open. Which begs the question, how do you tell when one has failed? They aren't like conventional electronics equipment, where it is obvious when something isn't working. And you can't tell through measurements as @Ittaku has shown.

Is there even warranty on these things, and how do you prove if one has failed, apart from a wire falling off?

Some people are reporting positive effects of having the wire falling off.
Theory is that it allows for easier quantum tunneling.

Rules are rules.

The question begged is why?

What's the difference between unsolicited praise and unsolicited critisism?

If one is banned why not the other?

I read frequently in the items for sale unsolicited praise for what I think is rubbish.

It is an interesting rule. I don't agree with it but it's the rule. It's like saying don't help someone have a a wider opinion prior to purchase. Only allow them to be biased towards the purchase.

There is also a comment in classifieds rules to discourage flipping of items. Yet it's done. If comment is made on the ad that flipping is what is going on, then the poster of that comment gets a punishment. But isn't flipping discouraged?

I have taken it to be what it is. It's just the way it is.

Having been a moderator on a dozen different forums over the years, I can tell you that it's very hard to set clear rules that satisfy everyone. I suggest the offtopic rule discussion be moved to the SNA discussion area from now on and we stick to talking about the XOT.

It's a good idea to move the posts regarding SNA to SNA discussion area.

I really would like to see the XOT dissected. The knowledge gained could start the equivalent of space age in audio.

I assume that you are being flippant.  For me they did not do much if anything at all.  I accept that the the benefits maybe system dependent and that for some there might be a benefit.

As an aside, I do have other various Synergistic Research products such as cables and Tranquility Base platforms.  Contra what others have said, my experience is that SR products do provide benefits.

Why assume that? Maybe it was humour? Maybe I was being serious? I am not sure why flippant is the assumption...

Maybe there is something inside that is causing a positive effect that people have described. Maybe @Ittaku didn't measure 'the right thing'? Maybe SR are onto something that other companies haven't explored? That could be all 'pro XOT'. Maybe there is absolutely nothing inside that should have any effect? That could be 'pro personal bias'. Maybe there is another 'pro something' case, or cases. In all honesty, good research aims to ask questions and explore, and be curious.

It’s really quite simple, just buy some yourself and cut them open And destroy them as much as you like.  Just make sure that you don’t listen to them first because that would risk having to accept that Something is happening that you and the oscilloscope brigade can’t explain.

cheers,

Terry

* I have found the answer, I reckon this is what is happening to you guys.

I then proceeded to listen to my system with a handful of my select reference tracks with and without them in place, back on the tweeter terminals. I was unable to hear any audible difference between having them in place or not

Again, he did listen Terry. He did.

Even though this was a review, I'm glad I chose "The Great Audio Debate" section to place it in...

The XOTs have now left the building, and are about to do a mini-tour around Melbourne, so expect other reviews (likely they'll find exactly the opposite of what I did audibly.) Thanks again to Cafad for organising this.

How does one get on this tour?

@Cafad, @Ittaku?

you're either on the bus or off the bus. If you're on the bus, and you get left behind, then you'll find it again. If you're off the bus in the first place — then it won't make a damn.

Yep, definitely the right call there.

More than happy to let you in on the tour but (since the 'bus' has been mentioned above) I feel I should emphatically state that there are no drugs (illicit or otherwise) that will be shipped with the XOTs.

The XOT box isn't even that bright or shiny.
