I replay appreciate he headsup and something am very much looking forward to ! "This boxset features remastered versions of all of Sade's studio albums to date, on pure 180-gram black vinyl – the first complete collection of their studio work up to the present day. All six of the band's acclaimed albums: Diamond Life (1984), Promise (1985), Stronger Than Pride (1988), Love Deluxe (1992), Lovers Rock (2000), and Solder Of Love (2010) are packaged into the beautifully finished, white case-bound box. Revisiting the audio, the band and Miles Showell worked from high resolution digital transfers of the stereo master mixes, from the original studio recordings, remastered at half-speed at Abbey Road Studios" 1
Eggmeister Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Thank you for the heads up. Ordered myself one as well. 1
betty boop Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 looks like sanity also has at same price, https://www.sanity.com.au/products/2601069/This-Far? interesting that it is also online only and also limited edition. also interesting they have only produced this remastered edition on vinyl ! great to see them supporting the format. 1
Kaynin Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Their albums are so well produced to begin with, I’d expect these to sound superb! 2
tubularbells Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Appreciate the heads up on this but to be honest there's nothing here that i don't already have (at least 7 times over already ) and being cut from digital masters isn't exactly enticing me either half speed mastered or not. also contends the dreaded word "re-mastered" which for me always seems to end badly so yeah quite a missed opportunity imo with no bonus disks containing unreleased tracks, demo's, live versions etc. Think i'll sit this one out until the verdict is in in terms of sonics. 1 1

qik_shift Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 @rowbo appreciate the heads up - I've decided to take the plunge and put an order in. Also keen to see how these will compare with the original pressings.......Will report back if I remember to! 2
Tim D Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Not long now- Australia Post sent a message with tracking. Should only take a couple weeks to come across town now that they have it! 2
qik_shift Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Just got mine!! I'll compare to originals and get back to you soon.
qik_shift Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 OK too excited so just did it. Cleaned both original 1984 USA pressing of Diamond Life and the new arrival and played Smooth Operator and Your love is King back to back. A bit disappointed to see some warping on the newbies, but my vote still goes to the remaster . They're both great pressings, but I feel the remaster has an extra level of detail and openness to it the original doesn't. i would say it's slightly brighter but not in a bad way at all. Helen's voice just sounds that bit airier and adds to the mood of the song. Noise floor across both are on par and of a good standard. Take note - The composition of the songs are different. I noticed the end of Smooth Operator on my USA pressing has a section at the end which isn't included in the remaster. I'm not surprised given I've heard there's many different versions of songs to suit different parts of the world. The box set is presented nicely. Seeing gatefolds where they didn't exist prior too. 4
