Further information:

Selling my beloved Yamaha RX-Z1 which was top of the line Yamaha Receiver lineup and it is a Beast. I used this as an integrated amplifier for my stereo setup and worked superb.

It has Phono Input and surprisingly sounded good with my TT setup.

This still beats most of modern stereo receivers and just lack HDMI connection.

Looks very modern muscular looking and sounds great and built like a real tank. It weighs over 28kg. Never runs hot but warm and runs whispering quiet.

Original Remote comes with it.

Cosmetic condition is very good except one spot on front side of top panel that has slight white swirl mark(refer the photo shows top panel). Not very noticeable. Other than that, there is no major scratch and excellent condition.

[NOTE] One downside is that digital input (Optical/Coaxial) section somehow does not seem to work lately.  I have always used this as stereo amp with external DAC so it was always sounded better with external DAC so recommend this path to new owner.

If you have space for it, then this would be a great integrated amplifier and beat a lot of hifi stereo amplifier under $1K.

SHIPPING is possible and it would cost about $40 to most of metro regions with tracking. Again, this is bloody heavy beast so cost a bit more to ship than usual integrated amplifier.

Just got me curious why this receiver is so heavy so just opened the lid to see what's inside. (Refer updated photos)

The tranny is HUGE. It is almost half of depth and full height of this large receiver.  No wonder why this thing is so heavy.

Caps seem all Nichicon Gold series caps.

Looking at the picture of the back panel, it's the black RCA input in the digital block, just above the orange RF inputs.

Wondering if I could use my nasty little Denon as a pre-amp and feed all the HDMI based audio down to this for amplification, will have to look at the back panel of that to see if it has 6 channel output...

No worries. I uploaded larger photo of back panel for reference. Hope it helps.

Thanks for that - it's definitely what is required for getting dolby digital off a laserdisc.  Will do a bit of measuring.  Not sure exactly how I would hide 27kg of Yamaha in my lounge since we've been on a serious downsizing of the audio in that room.  Would be a shame to hook it up to the garbage speakers in there as well.

If you need it to be hidden then this might not be ideal. This is LARGE so hard to be hidden..  It is actually sleek modern looking with full metal body with separate solid side panels. so it may be better to be exposed than hidden.

Yeah I get that.  More interested in hiding it from the decor police long enough to be able to say "oh that old thing, I've had it for ages" ha ha
