E10 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I am currently driving a pair of Kef Q5’s with the Nad. Would the Cyrus be a noticeable upgrade?
Hydrology Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Absolutely! Better poise and grip on the speakers. 1

Hydrology Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 I used to sell them and would always loan out one of the PSUs after a few weeks of the Cyrus component settling into the clients' systems. In all but one time, the PSUs stayed at the clients. 1

Gordon Macfarlane Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 I used to sell them also but many years ago. I agree with Mark's comments 1
kdoot Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 My first hifi amp was the C320BEE. I absolutely lusted over the Cyrus 8 gear, having been introduced to hifi proper by the nice bloke who happened to be a Cyrus dealer back when the 6's were current. Those little boxes can be magic and I've no doubt you'll enjoy this upgrade. 1
E10 Posted October 13, 2020 Author Posted October 13, 2020 I thought I would post a quick follow up for those that posted here. The Cyrus arrived and I couldn't be happier. The Cyrus has me listening to new types of music and artists that didn't appeal to me before. If an amp can make this much difference I better not listen to really expensive gear - I'll definitely go broke! Now what to do with the NAD..? Do amps age well if I stick it in a box for 10 years? Or do they need to be used? Or best to move it on and let someone else enjoy it?
Atjan Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Glad you're happy with you new amp. My vote goes for passing it along in the classifieds. No use keeping it in the cupboard.

I remember starting out with an FM X tuner about a year ago and now I have 10 little silver boxes in my house.
