soundfan Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) Jean-Michel Jarre: Zoolook West German Polydor vinyl pressing. I found this in a second hand store this morning for $6.00, a bit of a tatty cover, but the vinyl looked clean though dusty. A quick clean and onto the platter. Sounds excellent. I half expected it to sound great as my vinyl Polydor copy of Oxygene is a reference quality record in my household. And I hadn't heard this one before, shame on me. hired goon Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Oh, yeah. So beautiful. Chik, chik chikka. --Geoff 3
hired goon Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Jean-Michel Jarre: Zoolook And I hadn't heard this one before, shame on me. Side 1 is me fave. Side 2 ... is okay, not as good as Side 1 ... but there's vocal samples a-plenty. --Geoff 2
soundfan Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) One of our countries great musicians, and I always enjoy listening to his albums. The sheila on the cover was his girlfriend at the time, have no idea whether they are still together. This one only ever had a CD release, as far as I am aware. This is how Stephen explains the record: “Space Travel is my 13th proper full-length album. We recorded it over a series of short sessions in Yarraville with Bill McDonald, Billy Miller, Peter and Dan Luscombe. Shane O’Mara mixed the album back in his Yikesville studio and spa. The songs were written mostly during the summer of ’06. I don’t want to go into too much detail about the songs, but I will point out that there are my usual themes of forgiveness and ******* up.†Edited September 5, 2015 by soundfan 3
