emesbee Posted Friday at 01:25 PM Posted Friday at 01:25 PM Donovan - 1965 A double CD containing Donovan's first two albums from 1965 plus tracks from his Universal Soldier EP and bonus tracks from his American albums. It's a pretty good collection, has been well remastered and sounds great. Unfortunately appears to be either out of stock now, or the asking price is excessively high (something which is becoming increasingly common lately). I'm just glad I bought my copy in 2021 when it was available for a fairly modest price. 2 1

Dolphy Posted Friday at 06:15 PM Posted Friday at 06:15 PM (edited) Am I allowed to post if I am streaming via Roon ARC? Several months ago I bought a Kenny Rogers greatest hits CD, for less than a dollar and it was in mint condition. I got home and immediately ripped it to my NAS. I forgot about this CD and I saw it on the top of the pile of ripped CDs, I grabbed it and popped it in my newish CD player, Marantz CD6007. I intended to listen to it on the background and I was amazed at how good a singer he was. I had to sit down and played the album twice. I have since streamed it many times. I recall he was big in the eighties but I never realised how good his voice was. The more I though about it, I came to the realisation that I had only listened to his music on TV (mono) or on AM radio when I was a kid. I just remembered his catchy tunes. I am now sitting in dad's lounge room in Santiago, Chile, listening to Kenny Rogers, I am still amazed by his voice. Edited Friday at 06:22 PM by Dolphy typos 1
