The new Spendor A6 speakers are compact high performance floor standing loudspeakers. The Spendor A6 speakers benefit from important advances in Spendor's drive unit technology, cabinet design and crossover engineering.

The Spendor A5 speakers offer exceptional performance in relation to its compact dimensions, while the Spendor A6 lifts performance to an even higher level with noticeable improvements in clarity, resolution and bass extension

New drive units based on technology developed for the recently launched Spendor SA1 ensure clear and natural mid-range and beautifully open treble. Spendor has developed a new 18cm driver specifically for the new Spendor A6 floor standing speakers. With magnesium alloy chassis, excellent power handling and extremely low colouration these new drivers give the loudspeakers a remarkably big and powerful sound. A new 22mm wide-surround tweeter for the Spendor A5 and an advanced 29mm wide-surround tweeter for the Spendor A6 floor standing speakers combine the extended frequency response of a small diaphragm with the low frequency characteristics of a larger diaphragm to give stable low distortion response over a very wide frequency range.

Timing is fundamental to the musical experience. In conventional loudspeakers rigid, high density cabinet panels are mass-damped to reduce cabinet-talk. Spurious energy is stored and released slowly; this creates unacceptable blurring and slowing of the sound. Spendor's solution is Dynamic Damping. Small low mass constrained polymer dampers at key energy interface points instantly convert any spurious energy in the cabinet into inaudible heat. The result is a naturally fast and engaging sound

The Spendor A6 speaker's linear flow port panel, crossover network and high quality WBT terminals are arranged in a mono-bloc which is anchored directly into the cabinet to maintain an extremely rigid and resonance free structure.

Meticulously engineered phase linear crossover networks integrate the drivers seamlessly. Spendor refuses to use series attenuating resistors in any crossover networks because they cause unacceptable and audible thermal modulation distortion. Spendor's solution is to use precision wound high-linearity tapped inductors, which not only eliminate distortion but also allows very fine tuning of frequency response, which ensures coherent and balanced sound with all kinds of music.

Internal cables are high-grade silver plated pure copper with halogen free dielectric. High linearity audio grade capacitors and an easy to drive 8 ohm load deliver uncompromised performance and guarantee complete compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers and cables.

The base of each cabinet has four machined steel stabiliser inserts. These contribute to the neat appearance and good stability of the slim cabinets. The stabilisers are secured directly into the main structure of the cabinet so that micro-movement or flexing of the plinth and feet (which can blur fine detail and destroy ambience) is eliminated.

With their clean modern styling and natural veneer finishes the new Spendor A6 speakers will blend comfortably and confidently with almost any room décor.
