With delays in Melbourne due to COVID in postal centres I’m hoping that my Innuos will finally arrive tomorrow.

just set Roon to do a full backup over night, Ethernet cable ready to go, audioquest coaxial ready to pick up first thing in the morning it’s all quite exciting!

Now…..what should I play first?! 🎶

Having a great time re-listening to music through the Zen Mini and burning more onto the device. Glad to be able to use all of my Les Davis damping pads

In terms of listening to my music via my iPad etc, is iPeng still the way to go or are there better programs to allow me to do this?

The Sense App is a remote control app only, not a renderer. In other words, he wont be able to play music from the Zen Mini to the iPad over the network.

Good catch FP. I didn't read the question properly.

I wonder if that is a function innuos will ever adopt into the sense app?

I believe they plan to, but doubt we will see this happen in 2021.

Why not use the roon app on the ipad?

Because I already have a good core setup for Roon so have no real need to set the Zen up as a Core. Is it possible to add the Zen as a Network share, so that Roon adds the music that is on the Zen?

I'm still learning regarding all things networking etc!

I don't know, sorry. @Frank Prowse Hi-Fi probably does though.

You can, however this makes the Zen a very expensive NAS drive and being underused. What is your "good Roon Core"?

Yes that is absolutely true - I've decided to just use the Innuos as my Roon Core and to use my other setup as a network bridge.

Just waiting for everything to load over - thanks for your input!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a headphone amplifier to go alongside the Zen Mini?

I use a Graham Slee Solo ULDE currently and love it. I’ve also used a Jotunheim and a Hugo2. All terrific, just different.

Can someone give me a hint on price structure  of Innuous's SSD capacity option? I am looking for a mate to improve his streaming but I must shake my head

INNUOS - ZENith - Music Server 1TB is $7,000

INNUOS - ZENith - Music Server 4TB is $9,000

INNUOS - Statement - Music Server 1Tb $22,000

INNUOS - Statement - Music Server 4Tb $26,000

For same capacity upgrade, it is double price in Statement line while top line 4Tb SSDs on the market is around $500-700.

Is it simply of part cost to multiple different ratio among the INNUOS' lines ? I don't want my friend to be ripped off as he does not want to buy a SSD from  ebay and and swap by himself, is there any performance difference with other SSD brands?

This is the exact issue that stopped me looking at the INNUOS range

Thanks, can I get a 1TB version and swap SSD later? I can source 4TB SSD under $500 and my mate needs 4TB? Does stock-installed SSD contain OS on it?

No its not as straightforward as that. Some people on the interwebs have claimed they have cloned the internal drive with success but more often than not actual owners have reported trying with no success as there are many hidden files buried. I cant confirm what SSD drives Innuos use, but I believe whatever brand it is, its models that are up the ladder in terms of performance and price.

As per my above post in November Innuous ran a world wide competition for people who either purchased or trialled one of their products where the winner could win the product they trialled or get their purchase money back.

Anyway today the Importer contacted me to inform us that one of our customers and a member of this forum (Blue Ocean Boy) had won the component he had trialled being the $5200 Phoenix USB Reclocker.

A big congratulations to Neil and thank you to Innuous for putting on the competition.

I have put a link below to my original post announcing the winner.

cheers,

Terry

Thought I might ask about the best USB cable connection for using an external hard drive to the Zenith?

Currently using my WD Passport HD as an external drive.

Also, there is no eject external drive facility on the Zenith, I have to turn it off to disconnect the Passport HD, maybe Innuos could look at providing a eject function without having to turn the unit off completely?

Happy New Year everyone,

Lots of ripping going on at the moment, is anyone noticing that some CDs are just taking forever to import, even with the fast rip setting engaged?

Happy Listening to you all!

Hi Guys,

Question(s) for all you fellow Innous users.

1. Does having your ROON core installed on your Innous negatively effect sound quality?

2. Has anyone integrated an EtherREGEN into their set up?

3. How have you configured it with your Innous?

4. Looking at the schematic below, is the connection circled in red (SFP+ output from switch to SFP input on Aside of ER) necessary?

5. Lastly, if I was to use fibre between the SFP+ from the switch > SFP input on the ER, can I r should I remove the RJ45 cable from the STREAMER out to the ER?

Hopefully these questions all make sense?

BTW - I installed the ER just in front of the Innous last night & it did seem to improve the sound quality but I've been told it's best installed in-between the DAC & the PS Audio DAC?

Cheers

Matt
