A 2.4.6 update was pushed out overnight to fix the bug with 2.4.5.

Apparently though this bug only affected a small portion of the Innuos owners out there.

Ah..ha.... 🙂

Hey @Gryffles, I'm using a PhoenixUSB with my Zennith Mk3 and I love it. It was a distinct and immediate improvement when I took one on trial - needless to say it stayed right where it was (is)

Good to know and thanks for sharing.

It was a distinct and immediate improvement to my ZENmini Mk2 (with Keces P3) and after this to my ZENith Mk2.

Prior to that the ZENmini MK2 was an significant improvement as against iPad or iPhone as streamer. The Keces P3 significantly improved the ZENmini Mk2. A better power supply for my router improved my chain a little bit (iFI Audio Power X, 12V). My unmodified Zyxel GS108B improved my chain a little bit more (only €20, bought after the modified Zyxel out of curiosity). My modified Zyxel GS108B improved my chain a little bit more (Sellarz clock and other measures). A better power supply for the switch improved my chain a little bit more (iFi Audio Power X, 5V). Some say the modified Zyxel betters entry-level commercial switches (for example Silent Angel Bonn N8, likewise based on the Zyxel). Some say higher linear power supplies further improve the Zyxel.

My (second-hand) PHOENIX USB is the most expensive digital component in my (second-hand) digital chain, but turns out as good value that improves entry- and upper-level components alike. The sequence of emerging bargains biased the sequence of upgrades, i.e. 1st PHOENIX USB, 2nd ZENith Mk2. I abstained from an MK2 SE double the price (and I at times regret). So far no bargain ZEN Mk3 or ZENith Mk3 or PHOENIX NET. I understand PULSAR makes the PHOENIX USB redundant. The STATEMENT in addition makes the PHOENIX NET redundant.

It's a loaded budget and an inflation of separate boxes at my digital front end, but biased by the "it's alI 1s and 0s" camp I had no confidence in buying an upmarket one-box-solution, in particular by mail-order from a private seller. With the same DAC and active speakers I believe that after the upgrades I hear in part small and in part astonishing improvements. Anyway, my flat with medium-sized room, neighbours above and below, wooden floor and ceiling, limits space and sound level for bigger speakers, horn speakers or electrostatic speakers that occasionally impressed me at audio shows.

An audio show with Grimm MU-1, LS1be and SB1 triggered my recent journey. I wasn't immediately impressed at the show, but I stayed longer, came back and afterwards at home I missed something. I still struggle to verbally describe the missing quality, just as I dodge to verbally describe the perceived quality improvements in my digital front end. Some day I may conclude that Grimm MU-1, PULSAR or STATEMENT would have saved me money and a long journey, but isn't the journey the reward?

Spent some time with the people at Innuos today, and I must say they are as lovely as their products are! Here's a brief chat with Nuno Vitorino, co-founder and head honcho technical guy.

Yes still got the MKII. Have reached out to the Aus DB to see what the power upgrade will cost. Will share details when I get them.

Any updates on cost yet?

In my quest to improve my digital front end I was keen to listen to a Pulsar however that’s easier said than done………

Anyway, things have evolved and if anyone is interested in a Zenith mkii please give me a shout.

Nope as can’t demo locally. Suffice to say I won’t be posting in the Innuos Owners thread any longer if all goes to plan 🤔😉

I am surprised that Audio Taylor do not have it in store.

Curious to know whether you have heard the Phoenix USB Reclocker?  The Pulsar is supposed to be better than the Zenith MK3 + Phoenix.

No, just Gieselers reclocker and that didn’t suit unfortunately.
The price of the Phoenix makes no sense to me so I’m not considering it.

I already had my Phoenix USB before the Gieseler unit was available ... general consensus seems to be that it is very close to the Phoenix performance and given that I am a fan of most everything Clay Gieseler does, as well as the price point, I would certainly have saved $$$ and went with his if it had been a choice at the time. I'd be very interested to hear if the Pulsar really is better than Zenith MK3 + Phoenix although I don't think I'd move to streaming alone.

In principle, yes.

There are second-hand Phoenix and ZENith or ZEN or ZENmini, Mk3 or Mk2.

The PHOENIX can improve streamers that you already own.

There are no second-hand PULSAR, yet.

If you did not like the Gieseler, than I suspect you may not like the Phoenix???  Also, the Pulsar is going for $10.5K new, while the Phoenix is $5.7K new, and does turn up occasionally in the Classifieds....

Yeah maybe. As I've said I have no intention of finding out if I like the Phoenix.

Umm, if comparing prices, which I'm not, you need to add the price of the Zenith / Phoenix vs the Pulsar. I think thats apples for apples

If anyone is keen on my near mint condition Zenith II then PM me before I list it........cheers.

For anyone considering an Innuos purchase in the not-to-distant future, there is a price rise happening within the next 7-10 days...now is the time to start locking down those consideration purchases...

Installed the latest version 2.5.1

Now the Innuos can't find my Aqua DAC all of a sudden (all cables connected correctly with the right input selected on the DAC) 🙄

Restart the whole system? Power cycle? I know sometimes if I unplug and the plug usb on my DAC the two don’t play catch.

Hello, sll

sad news for me with my Zen MK3 failing yesterday. A bright glow for about five seconds then a puff of smoke. 😢

I got onto Cameron at maxmedia (my unit is well out of warranty) and he was very helpful. Looks like it’ll be visiting him next weekend, then possibly back to Portugal.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I’m assuming from the location of the glow that I might need a new power supply board. No idea on cost, sadly, but I do love the unit and hopefully a fix isn’t too damaging to my pocket.

My condolences, Mick. I have the exact same model as you and similarly, I love the warm organic sound this streamer gives. The occasional software glitch, but never any mechanical fault.

I'm assuming the glow came from the top right of the unit, located near the ventilation perforations holes? Surely, the mains fuse should have protected the power supply?
