Ray H Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 Seem like nice cables, but I’d be worried they don’t meet Aus standards. In the event of malfunction etc. I had the opposite burn in with my Zenith III, sounded muffled and a bit bloated, but took a few weeks to become more detailed, greater clarity etc. 1 1
Silver Audiophile Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 Downside indeed of small custom operators. Rather expensive and cumbersome to gain AU standards, given large corps like Clipsal have the local regulators by the balls to make it tough for new players to enter Australia. 1
AussieMick Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Hi again everyone My Zen Mk3 is happily ensconced in my temporary listening corner (about to move house). A week in and it’s sounding terrific. The web based access is flawless and intuitive, and iPeng is doing the job until innuOS2.0 is released. I should’ve joined the streaming revolution sooner. 2
AussieMick Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 CD ripping is going well, too. Obviously it handled pop and jazz easily, but it’s also dealt perfectly (so far) with multi-disc multi-artist classical recordings. This is in some part thanks to attaching itself to discogs. Editing of metadata is the easiest I’ve encountered.

AussieMick Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Update: added an Isotek Sequel to the Zen 3 a week ago. Really happy with the gains in calmness, dynamic range and soundstage depth. It sounds less congested and as a result you can hear each musician’s contribution much more. It’s more involving to listen to. 1

Is the disk storage in the Innuos line up conventional or SSD and how good( or not ) is the onboard DAC? Hi Rantan, I've not read all the posts on this owners thread but I can vouch for the Zen Mini + LPSU as an excellent value for money streamer/server/ripper/ROON Core solution & whilst I've not used it, the Zen Mini does have an inbuilt DAC with analog out (also toslink & coax from memory). I can't be happier. 1
Silver Audiophile Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Anyone else having trouble downloading the latest Innuous update?

Tried to download today, seems to be stuck on "Preparing Update" - has been for a couple of hours now Have you had any success? I'm going from 1.4.7 to 1.4.9 on Zenith MKIII 1
Hydrology Posted July 1, 2021 Author Posted July 1, 2021 The 1.4.8 update was quite lengthy (about 20-30 mins), while the 1.4.9 update merely took about 20 seconds.

markm1111 Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 No luck for me when trying to update. Engaged with tech support from Innuos and they were fantastic. Identified the problem as an ISP communication problem between Telstra and their ISP in the UK. Unfortunately, problem not solved yet. Tried the update again, and it got past preparing the update to installing, but it has now been stuck on that for over 3 hours. Another tech session coming up I guess
Mord Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 just tried and was successful in updating my Zen mk3 to 1.4.9 only took a minute or two

Garmstro Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Hi, I'm interested in purchasing an Innuos Zen. Primarily as a central location for file copies of my CD collection. I was wondering whether someone could help me with a couple of questions: 1 I want to use the USB output of the Innuos to feed the 16 bit/44.1 DAC in my Rega Isis CD player. The Isis works fine when fed a USB signal by a PC. Is there any reason why it wouldn't work with the Innuos? 2 I can't afford the Zenith but I'm wondering whether the improvement in sound quality is readily discernible? Thanks. Grant
Hydrology Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 I use a ZEN at home (and a ZENith at work) the models do scale well so there are noticeable performance gains as you move up the food chain, however, I am very happy with my ZEN. You should have no issues connecting the Innuos into the Isis.
markm1111 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Finally managed to update to 1.4.9. My Zenith was hung trying to update to 1.4.8. Hard reset, a couple of restarts, then it was finally installed. A couple of false starts going from 1.4.8 to 1.4.9, but got it working too. Probably just in tie to go to 2.0 in the next few months! Again another shout out to the tech support from Innuos - very, vert good. 2
markm1111 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 @Garmstro I run USB from my Zenith to a Chord M-Scaler without needing to install any drivers. Works a treat. I would imagine your Isis would be similar
JAF123 Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Can I ask a newbie question about which is preferable? The zen mini 3 with the power supply at 4TB is not that different in price (well some) from the zen mark 3 4TB. I don't update equipment that often so I would like to get something for the long haul. At present I use a macbook pro running Audirvana Studio to a Gustard a22 DAC, into Arcam A39 amp. My music collection is on a NAS. I'm thinking about improvements over the mac as well as re-ripping my CD collection.

Kinsella Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Another streaming newbie query. My music collection is all CD. I have a Marantz Pearl sacd feeding a Vitus RI101 mk2, driving Whatmough P33 Signature speakers. I'm considering a streaming option. Whilst my hearts wants DCS Bartok my wallet is more like a Zenith. Any thoughts however on the Zen vs Zenith.
