Further information:

Up for sale is a mint condition pair of the ATCSCM50ASL. Purchased in June this year from the Australian Dealer. Current RRP is $26,000.

Reviews are all over the net, and as they say, once you go active speakers, you never again want to go back to passive.

Although a stand mount design, they have a dynamic range and sheer effortless way they present music unlike any other passive speaker I have owned.

That list includes the ATC40A, ProAc D48R & Spendor D9.

Anyone looking for brand new ATC speakers now, need to factor in a roughly 3m or longer wait to get them, as they are built to order by ATC in the UK.

Very much prefer a local Perth sale, as the shipping weight is 75 kg EACH carton. I have all original shipping boxes, manuals, stands etc. However if I must let them go Interstate, the buyer pays shipping.

The balance of the ATC 6 year fully Transferable Warranty also follows the buyer, not that you will ever likely need to use it, built to Pro Audio long working life standards.

*****Supplied with spikes, not the picture ones with Isoacoustics footers.******

Sad to hear that you are getting out of hifi and selling these truly amazing speakers. I agree with you about how they sound... I would never part with mine. At least you are ending on a high note!

Walnut finish looks great and an amazing price for virtually new... are they even run in yet?

All the best for your future endeavours.

Terrific speakers. I’m a self confessed ATC fanatic since I stumbled across a pair of 20 year old scm20’s a few years ago.  Eleven pairs later including older 50’s I’ve now gone as far as my budget will take me. The 50’s are a truly wonderful speaker and active means absolutely no mucking finding amps to suit.

They will do anything you want, can play at low volume and will play loud enough for anyone.

If you were thinking of active 40’s put your hand back in your pocket, pull out a little more money and buy these. I went from active 50’s to 40’s for the new tweeter and then spent the next few years saving to get back into the real atc’s  - the scm range.

Pair with a decent, preferably low impedance preamp and you’re away.

Might be an idea to check the RRP, I recently saw this model advertised with a RRP of $33k, not $26k, which if correct makes these ones you are selling a real bargain.

cheers,

Terry

Almost forgot to add the walnut looks great. No one will ever accuse the atc’s as being pieces of art but they are well made and if my wife said they looked okay that must mean they actually do look okay.
