Energy are based in Canada and are highly regarded. The S10.2 was made in Canada, prior to manufacturing going off-shore in later years. This sub sounds great, and has a switch on the front panel for audio vs movie use, with the movie setting giving punchier bass and the audio setting giving flatter, deeper bass. It is well suited to both home theatre and music use. Cosmetically the sub is in great condition, and the sub performs beautifully. I have noticed that the front power LED does not function, but this never worried me, and it in no way affects the performance of the sub.
