Further information:

I bought these off the second owner last year and put them in my weekend setup in a small-medium-sized room. They function perfectly, and look fantastic despite a couple of marks (front top + bottom) on one of the speakers - which didn't occur on my watch, I hasten to add. Barely noticeable in normal light, and priced accordingly.

The Haydn Grand SE is very well balanced, and definitely not treble shy - a caveat with the earlier Haydn versions. The sound resembles that of Harbeth / Stirling / Spendor monitors, but is perhaps faster with better-defined and deeper bass. I enjoyed them with all genres, including orchestral and EDM, and particularly with 70s rock, acoustic jazz and chamber music.

In my setup they sounded best firing straight ahead (which the designer also recommends) and slightly tilted back on solid stands. They're actually quite sensitive in real-world use, and my 50w Arcam amplifier supplied ample current.

I prefer local pickup as I don't have the boxes, but could be persuaded to parcel them up if someone outside Sydney is keen.

Hi - thanks for your reply. Looking for a local buyer at this stage but if no interest let me get back to you.

Thanks for all the PMs - these have attracted a lot of interest, and are on hold for local buyer (and several in line).

I was hesitating because it seems that they were moved around for a number of times. But I agree, for the money it's no brainer. Very very tempted myself at that price. New buyer will have no remorse, I'd imagine.

Still can't believe $600 for these ??
