idrabble Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Two new UHD players being launched, hopefully high enough quality to fill the Oppo gap. I can't see anything about an Australia launch yet though. https://www.whathifi.com/au/news/tech-newcomer-reavon-launches-two-high-end-ultra-hd-blu-ray-players 3
cwt Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 So much for those who said the uhd disc market was dead and 2nd rate streaming was it Gotta love the testimonials on the reavon site Reavon UBR-X200 | REAVON The 7.1ch outs are redundant on the dear one .. Quote “Heavy chassis, SACS and Dolby Vision compatibility, Dual HDMI ... ! It is everything people need in a good universal player. I will probably buy one to replace my old BDP-93” Philip, Truck Driver 1
xPLAYRZx Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 "In Germany, UBR-X100 is listed for €800, while the UBR-X200 is double the price, at €1600. The new Blu-ray players are the only products in the Reavon catalogue right now, and they'll be available by April." New company (unproven) at that price....... I'd be sitting this one out I think. 1
widescream Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 If this can play any MKV file without restrictions, I'm in.
drummerboy01 Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 This is great news. More competition the better along with more options/choices to make. I will be interested in these units when available. I hope the uhd disc market never dies out. Nothing worse than relying on an internet connection to view a movie thinking your getting true 4k. Never been interested in relying on Netflix or the like for a big movie night. These disc spinners are the best for quality audio and video. Nothing worse than spending thousands of dollars on a projector and screen and have internet dictating terms as to your quality. Bring it on Reavon, i am waiting. 2 1
Guest Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 I just spoke to Reavon. Apparently "the product is not ready yet, as we are still working on it". Interested to know how they got the reviews & testimonials then? More speculation is these are Zidoo media player innards, with a transport added. 4 1

That would have to make sense, they could probably make money where Oppo couldn't if it's a high quality, all singing, all dancing media platform with intuitiuve streaming capabilities that can play a disc also, instead of the other way around.

What would really do it if its zappiti innards would be a capability that oppo once had ie ISO playback . Media players dont toe the hollywood line ; this would be unique 1
Jventer Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Does it have Zidoo or Zappiti innards? Interesting review here: http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/zidoo-uhd2000-vs-zappiti-pro-4k-hdr-version-authentic-cinema.76625/#:~:text=Zidoo UHD 2000 offers a,video with noise free images.&text=No differences between both devices,''AUTHENTIC CINEMA''.&text=Both media players deliver excellent analog stereo sound.

lordvader82 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 The on screen interface (media info screen) looks a lot like the Pioneer players.
Mobe1969 Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 If it can do what parent company a zapitti does re other features and external subs great. If it is an oppo clone, I'm less interested. Kind of over others just rehashing old tech rather than any actual progress. And if region unlock isn't available, no interest...
