angst46 Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Further information: If you are looking at these you will most likety know what you are looking at and they will require no introduction. I bought these beautiful Altec 291/1505B's for a horn project that I decided not to proceed with, I am parting with them reluctantly because I no longer have the space for them. Hopefully someone else can use them and give them the attention and use they deserve. They function perfectly and sound fantastic. There is some of the original Altec paint missing of part of one cell and some minor blemishes but they are otherwise in excellent condition for age. Due to their size I would prefer local pick-up. If the purchaser is from inter-state arranging the shippping will be their responsibility. I am more than happy to drop them off at a shipping agent for packing and shipping but I do not have the facilities to pack them myself. MarcAL Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Are the diaphragms original and Symbiotic types? Both 8 ohms?
angst46 Posted April 5, 2021 Author Posted April 5, 2021 Good afternoon, I believe they are the original Symbiotic diaphragms. I will measure the DC resistance and see about opening one up and taking a photo of the diaphragm. I saw them when I bought them but that was a while ago. Will get back to you. Steve 1
angst46 Posted April 5, 2021 Author Posted April 5, 2021 Good afternoon Here is a photo of one of the diaphragms. They appear to be the original Symbiotic diaphragms because they have the reddish brown ? mylar surrounds and screw on terminals. Both have a DC resistance of around 10.4 Ohms. All the best, Steve 2
mfforever Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Hi Steve ...... If I brought those into the house it would be I who was suspended from the ceiling ! Nevertheless they are indeed wonderful and would be the backbone of the most amazing project. GLWTS. 2
